Ryuichiluv I have had this dream this story in my head I have been working on my other story but this bugging me more then that. I have recently made this saying up base off of this thought. It is "Every Dream World Has a Soul but Does the Person in it Have One?" It all started out it was about 11:00 pm and I was at an elementary school swinging on a swing set and the sky was beautiful. That's when I picture this beautiful mysterious looking guy. He pops up and puts his hand out and says, "You know who I am, everyone has one. I am your dream world. Take my hand; come with me." It freaked me out and know I cant keep it off my mind and I guess I'm lost.
Dream: a form of communication between the subconscious and the conscious.
Imagination: the faculty of imagining, or of forming mental images or concepts of what is not actually present to the senses.
This man that you described though sounds very vivid, and the fact that it takes place at the swing sets during the middle of the night might be saying something. Since you're an author of sorts I'm sure you know all about light/dark symbolism. IE: When the clock struck midnight, the blade struck home or The sun had risen high on the peaceful day in London. Now let's break down the dream.
The Man: he could be representing something symbolic in your life that you are missing. The Swing Sets: this could be a place that you could have felt safe at, or troubled, scared, or even a little bit happy at some point in your life. Regardless of what it was something important in your life happened at those specific Swing Sets. The Darkness: normally the Darkness is used in a manner of deception and evil. However, in this dream you mentioned it was a pleasant evening so that rules out that form of darkness. A better guess is the darkness symbolizes the unknown, or the shadowed.
What troubles me most though is what the man said to you.
"You know who I am; everyone has one. I am your dream world. Take my hand; come with me."
Because he said "you know who I am" he strictly implied that you actually know who he is; right now let's call him ImageA. Because he implied that you know him, it can be a sign that you miss a certain person. "Everyone has one" immediately after "you know who I am" makes it sound more like a riddle then I would have liked it to. So now let's list some things everyone has that aren't a physical part of their bodies: Paternal Father, Paternal Mother, Grandmother, Grandfather, Friend, Teacher, Imagination, Intelligence.
"I am your dream world." Why does he say that? What is the whole point of that one statement? All it's doing is raising up more questions that need to be answered. Obviously he's telling you what he is, so now we know what he is. The man is representing your dreamworld, or let's say your subconscious. "Take my hand; come with me." It's almost like a line out of a corny alien movie staged in Nebraska, but none-the-less I'm sure it has some meaning to it. What that meaning is, is for you to find out. I wish to reference a certain post though.
kutamb77 ...I was also reading that you can train your mind to control your subconscious dreams and have conscious dreams. I was talking today to some one I know that has done it and he said it is just like reality but a few things are out of place and you can do things that you cannot do in reality (such as; walking up walls, flying, and such). He says part of training your mind to do this is you keep a dream journal and it helps you to recall dreams and be more conscious of them...it’s pretty cool...
If you had or still are keeping a dream journal then a possibility could be [and I'm only suggesting this] that you are merging your subconscious and your conscious subconsciously. It's only an idea, and a strictly theoretical one at that. All I can say now is I hope this analysis has helped you somehow on your path to enlightenment.
