Relationships
Why is it that frivolous things such as a relationships seem so important to people? Why does it seem that everyone needs to be with someone or other? Perhaps it is just socially acceptable to be with someone this generation. If this is the case being then perhaps it's the fear of ridicule. You must have a so called significant other or you must be someone insignificant and worthless. Is that is?
Is it just fear; a fear of being alone. If that was the case couldn't you have friends to fill the empty void of your soul? Or is that considered queer this day and age, to have friends to spend time with instead of your 'other'?
Why are 'others' so important? Are we not strong enough alone and we need someone to be by us even if they are not serious? Even if they just have some ulterior motive while being with us whether it be some sort of easy or cheap if you will, intimacy with another? Is it for personal gain: looking better in society’s eyes if your 'other' is perfect; or possibly material gain of useless 'sentimental' objects?
I just don't understand them. They seem rather pointless unless you have an unyielding devotion to the person and then if they feel the same. It seems like 'love' is no longer an emotion and now more of an action and by no means is it 'love' anymore, it is simply mating, and that isn't even a proper term for it because that implies the ulterior motive of a child.
Perhaps in time I will understand this, the neediness to have another by me. Not now though, it's just too strange
