These are some of the pictures from my high school's fall musical: Beauty and the Beast.
I played Lumiere (the candelabra), and my boyfriend played the Beast, so that's why there are more pictures of those two characters.
Keep in mind, our high school is mildly poor and our drama department doesn't get much attention, so we had a very tight budget; not to mention we don't have very many men.
Chip, Maurice, Mr. D'arque(the creepy assylum guy), Lumiere, Cogsworth, countless drunken men and townsmen were played by women.
In any case, it was amazing and we pulled it off so well and I'm so proud of us!
Enjoy!
North Marion Players Proudly Present:(See the copyright sign there? That's the proof that Disney now owns us.)
This is Josh, being the prince.
The Prince being selfish and shallow and turning the old lady away.
Belle, telling the childrens about her book.
Little Town villagers. I'm the crabby looking one in the front.
"I need six eggs!"
Gaston. He's one of my favorites... partially because he's awesome and partially because his costume looks like ketchup and mustard.
Gaston and Lefou planning to persecute harmless crackpots together.
Crazy Old Maurice (He/she's the one in the middle with the funny beard)
Cogsworth and Lumiere. This is the only time during the whole show that both of my candles worked at the same time.
Mrs. Potts. She got the "Voice of an angel" award. I was kind of jealous.
Madame De LaGrande Bouche (a.k.a. the Wardrobe). That costume weighs seventy-five pounds!
I'm makin' a face in this one because the Beast is friggin' scary.
See?
And now he's sad because he thinks he's ugly.
Stop bein' sad, Beast!
Be Our Guest! It was probably the best song in the whole show. It was so hot and I was moving around so much in that costume that it was probably hardest to sing... for me at least.
What's that, Cogsworth?
He just saved Belle from a pack of wolves. It was intense; and now they're going to eat some soup.
(You can't see it there, but my own hand knit dish cloth is in that bowl)
The three most important/amazing characters in the whole show... besides maybe Belle and Beast.
This is where Belle is reading King Arthur to Beast, who can't read. Later, I figured out that the whole musical was pretty much made to promote reading for children... not really, but still... They look fantastic.
Beauty and the Beast.
It was hard to keep myself from just bawling during this song.
I don't have any good pictures from the mob scene or the fight scene, otherwords I'd show you. So there's a huge skip to the end.
"Belle, I- Blehhhhguuh" *Dies*
Transformation! (a.k.a. a bunch of little girls twirling around the stage with little light up rings while Josh changed his clothes. It was like a little girly rave minus the drugs)
"Two lives have begun now, two hearts become one now. One Passion one dream one thing forever true..."
"I loooove youuuu!"
Cogsworth and Lumiere, human again!
Sara, the Silly Girl.
Our amazing cast.
(Erika and I thought it was a kickline)
Our amazing director, Carol.
Carol = My hero
I'm pretty sure that was the best show I've ever been in and ever will be in. I'm so sad that it's over. All of the other shows this year will pale in comparison.
Hope you like the pictures!
