The forest's wind flowed pass my cheeks as I headed to Mt. Fuji. As I made my way farther from the village I felt no need for my blue fox disquise.
I slowly came closer to a clearing in the middle of the forest. Pulling out my map I laid my finger apon a location (Mt. Fuji).
"OK. I must head......west from here." I said to myself.
Closer to the clearing I noticed that I was being followed, but it was too late. A beautiful human-like demon was apon me holding my arms and hands. He then introduced himself.
"Konichiwaa, young neko. I am Kumo-sama of the wolf deamon village." he flirted, "I will send on an eternal sleep....my dear."
He reached towards me and kissed my lips. Trying to fight it was useless. I began to faint as I felt something slither down my throat. It was poison!
My sight faded as a figure in red ninja garb attacked the wolf. In the excitment, I was tossed towards a tree and hurt my side severely.
All I could do was watch.....until it all turned black.......
A voice calling.....
Ambaru.......you must awaken.......you are so close....
A more demanding voice.....
AMBARU!!! YOU ARE STRONGER THAN THIS!
"Mmmmmn......" I moan as I sit up."Ahhh....nnnn." The pain I felt was great and almost unbearible, but I managed to sit up straight.
I looked around and noticed that I was in a shack and my clothing had been removed. I blushed but was gratful that I still had on my undergarments and bandages. My wound had also been covered up and treated.
I hear a voice as a werewolf-like figure steps into the shack.
"Rest." said the deep voiced Sub-wolf demon, "Your wounds need time to heal."
He sat down at the fire and put down his sword. Pulling out a rice cake from his pack he continued," Kumo is a powerful wolf demon. Any later and you would have been his slave. Eat this....its treated with an herb that will dilute his poison." he then handed me the rice cake. "By the way, my name is Uzumi Marku."
I was thankful but at the same time I was pissed. "I can't believe I let myself be taken down by a wolf demon.....AND THEN SAVED BY A SUB-WOLF DEMON?!!!! WTF!" I thought tomyself. "Thank you." I replied slyly, "But I no longer need your help so I will make my leave."
Picking up my things I began to get dressed.....until he exclaimed "I cant let you leave.....you owe me."
I laughed and then replied " I owe you NOTHING."
"But you do neko." Marku yelled. " If it were not for I, you'd be Kumo's personal puppet!"
"What do I owe you then?!" I screamed. "My body?!"
He then chucked "If I wanted your body, I would have taken it. What you owe me is your life."
"I am no ones to control!" I growled, "I will never be yours to command!"
Marku's voice was soft and deep as he replied calmly,"Fine. I will not control you neko." he continued, "Give meyour name."
"Ambaru...." I said softly.
"Ambaru." He repeated, "If you can get pass me and then through this door, I will let you leave. Here." he tossed my weapons.
I picked up my mother's naginata and raised it high. "Fine. I will fell you, Marku!"
As I charged towards him I felt a sharper pain on my leftside where my wound was located. Then I watched as his hand returned to his side he was quick...to quick. I raised my weapon again only to fall on my hands and knees. Using one hand I nursed my wound as it began to reopen.
"See? You are in no state to defy me, Ambaru." he said coldly. "From now on you address me as 'Uzumi-sama'."
I replied slowly as blood escaped my mouth, "Yes.....Uzumi-sama."
"Good. Now let me reclose your wound." he said. "You have powers yet unlocked, Ambaru. I will unlock them andyou will my most powerful weapon."
He lifted my face towards his and smiled. I knew my journey would take an unexpected turn........
Later that week...
I awoke again to Uzumi-sama's voice. He sounded concern and upset. I rose up from my bed.
"Ambaru." he whispered, "Get up. Kumo sent his foot ninja here and they are close."
"Yes, Uzumi-sama." I replied. I then began to put on my garbs.
"Hurry. Their coming....." Uzumi-sama whispered again as he pulled out his sword and went towards the door and listened. "Move!" he yelled when a wolf ninja burst through the door.
I picked up my naginata quickly as he got closer. The wolf demon then bagan to run closer as we exited the shack.
"Ambaru!" Uzumi-sama commanded.
"Hi-ii(yes)!!" I replied as I pierced the ninja's chest and then threw his body the side as more approached.
"Ambaru, your right!" Uzumi shouted.
"Yes!" I replied yet again. I then spun my weapon and body and took down the numerous shinobi. Returning to my serpent stance, we noticed that we were surrounded.
"Ambaru!" Uzumi called out once more,"Ryu's charge!"
This time I didnt reply,.....I just acted. My eyes glowed like rubies and emeralds in the night's moon light. I surveyed my enemy as they circled us. They were in awe as I gracefully executed my attack.
"Ryu's......CHARGE!!" I screamed as my naginata's blade cleaved off the headsof the shinobi. I then charged and pursued the remainder.
"NO, ONIGI-II(please)!!" they shouted, "Spare us, neko!"
I stared at them with cold eyes and then cleaved their heads clean off. Uzumi was pleased that I executed them efficiantly.
"Wonderful, Ambaru." he said, "Your actions are quick and swift."
"Arigato, Uzumi-sama." I replied greatfully.
"Come we must be going." he order.
We took camp at a house hidden within the the forest. There he explained why he needed me.
"Ambaru. I saved you because your race are the only ones who know the location of the five divine icons." Uzumi explained.
"The five icons?" I questioned.
"Yes" he answered, "They were said to bring peace or ruin in Yamato(Ancient Japan)." he then sighed softly then continued, "I need you to help me collect them."
I then replied, "Yes Uzumi."
He then coughed angrily. "Hmmm?"
"Yes, Uzumi...sama." I corrected myself.
"Very well. Lets get moving. The first one is said to be at Mt. Fuji." he said.
My heart leapt at the fact that there is where I could retreive Mochidizuki from the great shrine atop the mountain. Then I could escape Uzumi's hold.
We were almost to the mountain when we were confronted by, again, Kumo's shinobi.
"Damn it!" Uzumi sneered, "Didnt you learn when we killed half your asses at the settlement?!"
Thats when Kumo himself appeared. "You killed half of my beta pack in that attack." he sighed, "But now you must face me and my alpha pack of shinobi."
Kumo began to laugh softly, "You will be mine dear.... Ambaru was it?"
"Hmph." I snapped.
"Ambaru....go and retreive the sphere. Hurry. I shall hold them off." Uzumi whispered.
"Yes, Uzumi-sama." I whispered back. It was time to race towards the shrine!
