The next morning Gale and Lenn had both walked back into their small kitchen. They agreed that they would make breakfast for everyone silently. Gale had Xoutan on his shoulder who quietly watched every movement the two made. Gale paused for a moment and cut a chunk of meat and put it in a small bowl. He sat Xoutan next to it. "You have to leave to not eat so much....." Xoutan sniffed it for a second and started nibbling on it. Gale went back to cooking and Lenn just rolled her eyes and mumbled. "Silent... cooking...." Gale smiled and never took his eyes off the food. Lenn sighed and focused on her cooking. Hanna woke up to the smell of the food they had cooked and placed on the big table in the main room. "Finally this thing is useful....." Sophie yawned as she came out of her room. "Food....?" Gale laughed. "Yeah... we cooked.... Almost peacefully too...." Lenn rolled her eyes again. "Wow.." Gale went into his room to wake Ellie up. When he walked in she was curled up and sleeping quietly. He simply shook his head and went to Cid's room. "Wake up old man... We got food...." Cid was up almost instantly. "You cooked?!" Gale nodded. "YES! Gale's food!" Gale sighed and shook his head. "Get to the damn table and stop yelling... Ellie is asleep." Cid nodded and rushed off to the table. "Sophie... this kid hasn't cooked us food in a month..... His food is much better than..." Lenn glared at him. "I mean...." Sophie laughed. Gale sat down next to Cid and Sophie. "Nice one...." Cid looked down away from Lenn's death glare. Gale sighed. "Okay... its decided that today we are off hunting duty. Naturally that means Sophie, Lenn, and Hanna still have their work to do." Sophie looked at him. "What work?" Lenn laughed. "You have to earn your keep.... by means other than just fighting." Gale and Cid nodded. "Lenn and Hanna could use help keeping this place clean and making sure we have food for each week." Cid sighed. "Occasionally we get off days like this and help. But on normal days we are out hunting or too tired for the previous hunt. So each morning you will be helping them before we all head out." Sophie nodded. "Okay... now everyone enjoy the food... You know its rare..." Cid smiled and began eating. Everyone shook their heads and laughed at him. Xoutan sat at the edge of the table next to Gale and Sophie. He looked at everyones plates as they began to eat. "Heh still hungry aren't you...." Gale gave him a piece of cooked meat from his plate. Xoutan engulfed it and began jumping up and down. Sophie laughed. "I think he likes it." Gale looked at Xoutan. "I guess thats the first time he has had anything cooked." Cid stopped eating and looked up. "No its just the first time he has had your food." Gale sighed. "Its not THAT good..." Cid opened his mouth to speak but Lenn shot him another glare and he went back to the food. Ellie yawned as she walked up and sat down in front of the plate they made for her. "Why didn't you wake me up?" Gale looked up at her. "You were actually asleep... I figured I'd let you enjoy it." Ellie looked at the plate. "Did you cook?" Gale nodded. "Idiot.... I'd go weeks without sleep for this..." Lenn glared at her. "Er.... yours too....?" Cid laughed. "Don't worry... I got the glare too..." Gale laughed to himself and went back to eating. "If it makes any difference.. Lenn helped cook...." Cid laughed. "You did most of it though right?" Gale remained silent. Lenn sighed. "Whats wrong with my food." Cid gulped. "Nothing?!" He went back to eating. Gale laughed. "That sounded like a question...." Cid hit him. "Shut up..." All but Lenn laughed. "Fine I won't cook anymore..." Gale looked at her. "Then we will all starve...." Lenn glared at him. "Why don't you cook for us every morning?" "It wouldn't be special then.... and if you haven't noticed I usually have hunts to do in the mornings.... and afternoon..... and night...." Gale sighed. Ellie smiled. "Its good to have an off day every once in a while." They all nodded.
