ZOMG! I wasn't descriptive enough when it came to describing my book and my reaction to it so here we go:
I went to Borders looking for the Sweeney Todd novel. I searched and searched, looked it up on the computer...it said that it was being shipped and that we could preorder it. After paying for a calendar for my brother, we asked the clerk if we could reserve a copy of what I thought was a Sweeney Todd movie novel. The lady had no idea in her right mind what Sweeney Todd was, so a man who had seen the movie AND the musical helped us out. He searched for it on the computer and told us that it might be in stock in the back room, since it came out in November of 2007. I anxiously waited for the kind gentleman to get the book and when he arrived, a giant 8 1/2 by 11 paper sized book was in his hands. I stood there with my eyes wide open and grabbed it from the man's hands as if it were my own child. The book was 20 pounds but I didn't really care. I hugged it closely and looked through it like the little obsessed girl that I am. I turned each page gentley and looked at all the amasing promotional stills. This pictures looked so rare and hard to find I was thirsty for more! The back of the book had actual script and lyrics from the movie and actual screen captures. Of course I had to have it!
We paid for it along with my four dollar Pirates of the Caribbean bookmark and left. I hugged my book the whole way home...
The next day I took it to school, which was a poor choice. I had the book laying flat on my desk during Religion class. My teacher came up and pointed to it saying, "This is violent and immoral..." I replied with a, "But all the other teachers let me have it..." which was true. She then told me to put it away, which, I told her, was a problem considering there was no room for it in my backpack. After that she began looking through it and just so happened to open up to the worst possible page. The page had Sweeney with his razor slitting a random man's throat and gushing out blood. My teacher was not as amused as I was... "You see?" she said to me. I was dead silent. She said that she would just take the book and I could get it later after that. I was very angry...because you know what? When you take away my Sweeney Todd, I get angry... scream
I eventually got it back and showed the picture to my better understanding homeroom teacher because I felt like admiring Johnny Depp longer.
The point of this is that I got it back and my Religion teacher is still alive. It is a three day weekend now!! Yay! I shall start it by going to my school's movie night with my friends. Farewell, maties!
