LOL. In early January of 2008, I misplaced my MP3 player. The specific model was a Philips GoGear SA9200/17 (not SA9200/17B) 2GB one. I searched in places where I was last time with the player. I eventually gave up searching for the player a few days later, assuming I would run into it later. Boy, was I wrong.
Three weeks later today, my Mom was doing laundry. I must suck at checking pockets before tossing them into the dirty clothes, because she found the player in a pocket, probably a jacket pocket. And those clothes went through a machine wash! gonk
I rushed to plug in the player, and it turned on almost immediately. That was a shock, since I usually have a bad experience with malfunctioning electronics. Also, the touchscreen controls didn't respond.
A few minutes later, it kept randomly shutting off. At some point, I got something to show up: a hidden 16 MB partition from the player on my Vista computer. eek That was odd, since that wasn't normal. So I did nothing with it and immediately unplugged it, then replugged it. It worked.
The touchscreen controls now decide to work when they want to work, usually after it's been plugged into my Vista computer. confused But at least it still works. razz
EDIT: Back to normal! biggrin
