A Revision Of My Lifetime Dream
I think I’d like to take the moment to rethink something.

We all have dreams or goals; missions in life, or whatever. Thing is, half of us don’t have any idea what their dream is… yet. I’m not talking about stuff like “my dream is to kick the winning goal for my soccer team”. That’s great, but I’m talking about the big picture: tour the world, CEO a business conglomerate, become a famous comic artist known world-wide. These are dreams that people spend their entire lives trying to achieve. 3nodding

Until just this evening, my biggest life goal was to DJ in a big club. In the US most likely. sweatdrop Also until just this evening, I hadn’t actually seen any of my favorite famous Deejays’ performances, just drooled over their music. One particular DJ who happens to make me drool a lot --- and not over looks, mind you --- is Tiësto. And, being honest guys, the only people out there who haven’t heard of Tiësto at least once must live 10,000 leagues under Malaysia. Well anyway, on a spur-of-the-moment idea, I managed to kick the internet machine to his website. eek I was there to check out his world tour dates for Elements of life, but I was quickly distracted by some live footage from one of his umpteen-thousand shows. I’ll tell you what, folks: for any DJ out there passionate about what they do, watching this guy was like motivation giving you a swift kick in the pants. xd I couldn’t even sit still through the whole video; my hands were itching to get to my turntables, practice a bit, and become that much better. That much closer to Tiësto’s world.

So, I guess to be all cut-and-dry, and to hang it where even blind people can see it, my dream of a lifetime is… to be on the same level as Tiësto.
I want to create music that lingers with people. That hypnotizes even the shyest clubber. Music that stands apart from the rest in its genre, and that people remember forever. Sounds demanding, I know, but that’s not the half of it. sweatdrop

Those of you lucky enough to have actually been to any of Tiëstos’ shows can probably concur with this next assessment. The energy he gives off through his amazing and flawless mixing skills, his confidence, and his music --- which seems to have a soul of its own --- gather to produce a wonderful feeling. Like a high, I guess, but without the pill. wink Also, playing for all those people who share the same love of music as you, watching them hoot n’ holler totally lost in the music; it’s got to be the greatest feeling in the world.

I scrolled through Tiëstos’ tour list for February, and his next destination is in Brazil. Actually, his next five shows are all in various cities in Brazil. He’s been all over the world --- and that’s the other thing --- not only is he swooning all the Euro clubbers, he’s swooning every clubber in the world who’s ever laid ears on his music. To travel the world and share the music you love with other people, to me, that would be the greatest thing.

And to end my –ahem- mushy journal entry on my big stankin’ dream, I’d just like to say that one day, I want to inspire someone else like me. To have some aspiring young DJ look up to me and think, “wow. I could do that. I want to do that; to be as good as her someday.” redface Because I want to work toward that dream, and I’m sure Tiësto was here once too. If you have the passion and the drive, even a little DJ who hasn’t even left her bedroom yet can live out her most ginormous dream.

(Wow. That was really mushy. sweatdrop It sounds like it came from some emotional sap… quite unlike me. rolleyes Oh well, it’s the truth in its entirety…)
