Your pillow is still on the bed
It smells like you.
I turn and see you with half closed eyes
Everything glows through the lines of my lashes.
You never came to bed.
I know every wrinkle of thought in that face
As you fight off monsters the long night through
The screen bright as day.
The only way I can sleep is to turn my back on you
On the screen
On the battles that flare
And wrap my body around your pillow
And sleep until it's morning.
I wake up missing you.
You were just two feet away.
I am not a hero.
Fight off our demons.
Be there when I turn my face in the night
