"Cass babe, wake up." A soothing, husky voice whispered to me. I couldn't tell where I was, but I knew I was safe. I was someplace. . . familiar. The air reeked of car fuel, engine oil, and cigarettes, but I loved it. It was something I was used to, I guess.
"Cass, time to go." The voice said, prying me from my rest. Slowly, opening my eyes I could see a dark green room with old fliers from bands and other types of adds on the wall. The tv was on, it was a small 15" antenna tv and only played static. Unless you played twister, then you could at least get one channel. I was on the floor, under a few blankets on a mattress that was on the floor.
"Hey, come on and get up! School will be starting in a bit." The voice said from under a pillow next to me."
"Why should I, I could just spend the day with you again, which seems much better." I said softly to the male next to me. I could see his tanned and toned skin that wasn't covered with a sheet with help of the sunlight. His dark hair mas poking out from the edge of the pillow.
"No, babe. You have to go to school." He looked up and my breath caught in my throat. He had the most startling green eyes I had ever seen and he looked like he was twenty. I was seventeen and I was with a twenty year old male. Amazing? maybe, its kinda common now a days.
"Zach! Please don't make me go!" I pouted my lips and made some puppy eyes, everyonesaid I was cute this way. I guess they were right because he groaned.
"Aww! Cass! Your killing me here!" He groaned into his pillow.
I didn't want to go to school because I had a fight with all of my friends who said I was wrong for dating him. My mom had also thrown me out of the house because I wasn't giving her my full paycheck from working at the laundry mat. Zach was my boyfriend, he would let me live with him above his garage. My friends thought that I could choose some other means of living, they didn't really like Zach. They said he was too good for me. I believed it too, but he made me feel. . . I don't know. . . different.
I kissed Zach's cheek and laughed softly, "I'll go." I said into his ear. He perked up and sighed happily.
"Good. You don't want to work at the Laundr-o-mat forever, right?" I nodded. I really didn't care what happened in life, as long as I had a job, food, and someplace to sleep, I was good to go. Other people, however, needed more.
When I got to school, my friends were all surprised and glad to see me. They went to talk to my mom, to get her to let me come back home. They found that as a fatal mistake and came around to the idea of me and Zach. I was glad. The whole day seemed to zoom by as I found everything I had missed for the past day to have been nothing new. No homework, nothing new was taught. It was just reviews on things I already knew.
Work was pretty good too, it was like God, or Bhudda, or whoever was in charge was taking a break on me. I didn't put two and two together though. When I got to Zach's, he was pissed. He was in his, our, room and was pacing around with a scowl on his face. I was afraid to ask what was wrong because as soon as I walked in and shut the door he sent me a glare.
"You have to leave." He said after a moments silence. I was stunned. All I could do was mouth words that weren't there. The window showed a cloudy night, no moonlight came though, which was good. It always made Zach mad for some reason. Like he was being rushed, like it was his clock or time keeper.
"Cass, please, just go!" He growled. I was too stunned to even move. I didn't understand what was going on. And as soon as I had the courage to speak, the moonlight came through the window and hit his back. He hissed like it was burning him and dropped to the floor. I was about to run to him, but then he looked at me and his eyes turned into a bright yellow. Something under his skin started to move around, all over his body.
And then he jumped.
His flesh was off.
His fur was out.
His muzzle, open, reaching, connecting.
Jumping up from my bed and grabbing hold of my neck I started to pant. I looked around the room. I found only The dorm room I slept in. Across the way, Louis and Mark were asleep. I looked outside and saw the moon. Bright, pale, silver. I sighed and could feel the sweat on my forehead slid down into my hair.
I felt my neck again, I could feel the four small indents on each side on my neck, down the side of my ears and shoulders.
"Why must nightmares take the form of realities past?" I questioned myself. Falling back to sleep and hoping I wouldn't have a replay of the day I found out that my whole family was dead and my boyfriend was a werewolf.
