Heartbound Memories
Chapter 27
Ryuna went to the Immortal's hideout to destroy Lazarus, the man who tried to kill Kitty. She not only had to fight him, but also two other Immortals, Eurydice and Gunner. They were all slightly bruised and exhausted from the fight.
Lazarus: HYAH! *strikes Ryuna with his axe Omega*
Ryuna: *blocks the attack with her katana Scherezade, kicks him away*
Eurydice: *waves her fan Atropos, throws knives at Ryuna*
Ryuna: *summons a fire barrier to stop the attack*
Gunner: *in his wolf form, leaps towards Ryuna*
Ryuna: *dodges* Is that all you got? *pants*
Lazarus: We're just getting started, baby. *sends a lightning strike at Ryuna*
Ryuna: Gah! *gets hit by lightning*
Gunner: *bites her shoulder, tearing off her flesh*
Ryuna: Ah! Get off me, you stupid little-! *throws him off*
Eurydice: It looks like you're losing your touch, Ryuna. *snaps her fingers, ice engulfs Ryuna, freezing her solid* Hah, looks like we win.
Lazarus: Heh, wait until we tell the boss about this.
Gunner: *snarls at the frozen Ryuna*
Ryuna: *breaks free from the ice, transforms herself into a giant silver dragon, roars*
Eurydice: So, the b***h finally shows her true colors.
Lazarus: Let's do this!
Ryuna: *breathes out fire at Lazarus*
Lazarus: *dodges*
Ryuna: *slashes him with her claws*
Lazarus: Gah!
Eurydice: *throws ice spears at Ryuna*
Ryuna: *blocks the attack with her wings, slams Eurydice with her tail*
Eurydice: Ow! Damn you, you overgrown lizard!
Gunner: *leaps, bites her neck, tearing at her flesh*
Ryuna: *roars in pain, gets knocked down, pants from exhaustion*
Lazarus: *stands up slowly* Now's our chance to strike. Take this, you scaley wench! *slashes her face with his axe, leaving a huge scar on her face*
Ryuna: *screams in pain*
Eurydice: And there's more where that came from. *waves her fan, throws knives at her, all striking her back*
Ryuna: *groans in pain, turns back to human, on the floor in a pool of blood* You bastards...
Lazarus: Let's take her head and give it to the boss, as a trophy.
Eurydice: Good idea. *grabs Ryuna's hair, puts a knife at her neck* I'll gladly do it.
Man's voice: Not while I'm here. *strikes Eurydice with a blast of dark aura*
Eurydice: Gah! *releases Ryuna* Now what?
Luthor: Aw, looks like I missed the party.
Lazarus: Why are you here, you freak?!
Gunner: *snarls*
Luthor: I came here to pick up my girl. *picks up Ryuna* I'd love to stay and chat, but I got places to go.
Eurydice: We won't let you get away.
Luthor: Sorry, but maybe next time. *throws a black aura sphere at them*
They all dodged the attack. Luthor manages to escape with Ryuna.
Lazarus: They got away!
Eurydice: Blast! Damn you, Ryuna and Luthor. Next time, you two won't be so lucky.
While Luthor and Ryuna escaped the fortress, Kitty and Xiaolon's fight continues.
Xiaolon: You may be strong, young dragon, but you're still no match for me.
Kitty: We'll see about that. *sends lightning strikes at him*
Xiaolon: *a barrier protects him from the attack*
Kitty: What?! Well, maybe this will work. *sends a water blast at him*
Xiaolon: *barrier protects him again*
Kitty: What in the world?! Why aren't any of my attacks working?
Xiaolon: Isn't it obvious? You're still a rookie mage, your low-level magic can't harm me. My phoenix fire protects me from any attack thrown at me.
Kitty: Rookie mage?! I'm no rookie! I've been practicing magic for years.
Xiaolon: Well, looks like it's my turn to strike. *summons a fire tornado, surrounding Kitty*
Kitty: *shakes in fear, sweats from the heat*
Xiaolon: *lunges at her with his spear Lingsin*
Kitty: *blocks the attack with her magic staff Charlemagne*
Xiaolon: Do you still think you can defeat me? Without your precious little friends, you can't win a single battle.
Kitty: Shut up! I can fight without them.
Xiaolon: If you can, prove it. Try to defeat me. Try to kill me!
Kitty: *she attacks him with a series of elemental attacks*
Xiaolon: *blocks the attacks with his crimson wings* I told you, you are no match for me. *throws a giant sphere of phoenix fire at Kitty*
Kitty: *gets hit* AAAHHH!!! *falls to the ground, severly burned*
Xiaolon: *the fire surrounding them dies down* This battle is over.
Kitty: N-No... I can still fight.
Xiaolon: *approaches her* Time to fulfill, my promise, and kill you.
He attempts to kill Kitty by skewering her in the head but the attack was blocked by a scimitar which was held by a man wearing a kitsune mask over his face.
Xiaolon: A Slayer?
Kitty: Shouta-kun!
Shouta: Sorry I'm late. You stay back and rest Kitty, I'll handle this guy.
Kitty: No, Shouta! This guy's too powerful.
Shouta: *looks at Xiaolon* I sense so much evil burning in your soul.
Xiaolon: ...
Shouta: You've got some nerve, trying to kill innocent beings and prancing around, saying you're a god. I'm not the kind that wishes bad among people, but I hope once I defeat you, your soul burns in hell! *takes out his black scimitar Jigoku*
Xiaolon: We'll see. *battle stance*
Shouta: We will indeed.
Kitty: Shouta-kun... Almighty gods, please protect Shouta-kun. Please, don't let him die.
