The backstage area is certainly a colorful one. I just enjoy walking around and talking with everyone I run into. For example, when I get to the arena the day of the show, I always get one or two security guys who happen to be fans and try to get my atuograph before I enter. Then there's the seamstress who does all of the extra stuff for my costumes. Generally she'll come to me with some new designs for my shirts and pants. This time, she's trying to get me to add a red trenchcoat to my attire for when I come to the ring. I put the sketch into a folder and let her know I'll get back to her on it. As usual, daily business for me wouldn't be complete without chatting to Chess Master Ed, the owner of the promotion. CME has a lot of great ideas and we usually bounce ideas off of each other for my character. Next stop is catering because, let's face it, I need to eat SOMETHING. Going into here is like walking into my high school cafeteria, you get to see all the cliques and friendships that exist here. There's Josh Adams and Keith Bryant, The Outlaws, just chatting about sports or something. The Rowdy Bunch always seem to hang together and just talk smack to each other. A lot of the divas eat together, almost like the cheerleading squad in high school would. Then I see a few of the faces I don't generally notice, like the redhead who always seems to be watching me. She's always near the tunnel to the Gorilla position when I come back from the ring and she seems to enjoy watching my matches. I guess you could call it a school girl crush that she has on me, but who knows. After lunch, it's into the ring area to meet with my road agent and go over the details of my match for the night. Tonight I'm booked in a tag team match with my brother Rusty against The Hardys. All three are making their FWA debut tonight and I tell the RA that I'm excited for this match. Afterwards, it's back to the locker room to prep and then head out to the ring. I don't seem to have a lot of free time, but this is the life I enjoy.
