The Beginning of the Unusual Friendship: Part 2
After half an hour of searching in the mysterious dark forest, neither Ryo nor Konomi could find little Katsu. It seemed all hope was lost.
Ryo: Aw man, I think I'm too late. Poor little guy...
Don't worry kids, nothing sad'll happen. Just watch.
Ryo: *hears bushes rustle* Huh, who's there?
Sentaro: *his head pops out of the bushes*
Ryo: You again?! Listen Freaky Eyes, can't you see I'm busy? I don't have time to play with you, so scram!
Sentaro: *walks out of the bushes, is carrying a sleeping black-haired baby*
Ryo: What the-?! O_O Oh my god! Katsu, is that you? You're not hurt, are you?
Sentaro: *gives the baby to Ryo*
Ryo: Oh thank goodnes you're okay. *cries tears of joy, sniff* Wait, what happened to the crow demon?
Sentaro: *holds out the crow demon's bleeding head that has ben cut off from its body, drops it right near Ryo's feet*
Ryo: Ugh, dude that's gross! Though, I gotta admit that is kinda cool.
Konomi: Ryokamaru! *runs to Ryo* I had no luck finding Katsu. What about you?
Ryo: Well, I-
Konomi: *gasps* Oh heavens above! You found Katsu! *takes the baby* Thank goodness, he's not hurt. *sees dead demon's head* EW! Did you kill this thing?
Ryo: Actually, he-
Sentaro: He sure did, miss. I was going to lend him a hand, but by the time I got here, he already finished the beast off.
Konomi: Ooh, what a hunk of a psychic. OwO
Ryo: A what?
Konomi: A psychic, they're those people who can see into the future and can read people's minds. It's not everyday you see one, especially a hot one. OwO
Ryo: Really? How do you know he's one?
Konomi: Duh, everyone knows all psychics have those bright, beautiful, enigmatic, light green eyes. *dreamy sigh* ^w^
Ryo: I don't know what you just said, but to me those eyes are really freaky looking. I think they're kind of alien-like.
Sentaro: -_-;
Konomi: Whatever. Anyways, thanks for saving Katsu, little bro. I'll take him home. See you later. Bye, hot stuff. *winks at Sentaro, leaves*
Sentaro: *eyes glow, sees into her mind* O_O;
Ryo: Girls are weird. XP
Sentaro: Tell me about it. -_-;
Ryo: Hey dude, why did you tell her I saved Katsu? You're the hero.
Sentaro: If she knew I saved your brother instead of you, she'd pound you and tell you to be more like me.
Ryo: Really? O.O; Yea, well..... Thanks for saving my brother.... and my butt.
Sentaro: No problem.
Ryo: I'm Ryokamaru Hibiki, but my name's kinda long, so just call me Ryo.
Sentaro: Sentaro Nakamura.
Ryo: Hey Sentaro, there's something about you that's been bugging me.
Sentaro: Is it my eyes? -_-;
Ryo: Not just that, it's your hair.
Sentaro: What's wrong with my hair?
Ryo: It's so long and loose. You look like a girl. I think you should get a haircut.
Sentaro: *groans* -_-;
Ryo: Or if you don't want a haircut, use this. *shows him a piece of string* Here, allow me.
Sentaro: Hey, what're you doing?
Ryo: *goes behind Sentaro, ties his hair back* There. What do you think? Pretty cool, huh?
Sentaro: *walks by a river, sees himself in the water's reflection* Hm, not bad.
Ryo: I knew you'd like it. Now, what do you say we leave this freaky forest?
Sentaro: *nods* Sure.
So the 2 boys decided to leave the dark forest. While they were finding their way out, they were talking about their families.
Ryo: Are you for reals? Your mom never let you step out of your house your entire life?
Sentaro: Yes, for reasons unknown.
Ryo: No offense dude, but you mom sounds like she's a major b***h.
Sentaro: I'm not gonna argue with you on that one. I think all women are manipulative witches.
Ryo: Aw, don't say that. Not all babes are bad apples. Some are cute and sweet, like that pretty green-haired girl I saw a while ago. Hehe. ^^
Sentaro: There was a girl here?
Ryo: Yea, she passed by here while I was looking for my brother.
Sentaro: What was she doing in a dangerous place like this?
Ryo: I dunno, something about looking for someone.
Girl's voice: AAAHHH!!!
Ryo: What the-?! Sounds like someone's in trouble.
Sentaro: *runs off*
Ryo: Huh? O_O Hey, wait up dude!
The boys started heading towards where the scream was heard. Suddenly, Sentaro and Ryo saw a small, 6 year old, blonde-haired child, cut and bruised, being attacked by a flock of huge crow demons. All the poor, defenseless kid could do was curl up and hope her nightmare would end soon.
Girl: *crying, whimpering*
Ryo: Aw man, with that many demons attacking her, that kid's done for.
Sentaro: *eyes glow* No, she's still alive. We still have a chance to save her.
Ryo: Well, I'm not gonna doubt your all-seeing power. *takes out his scythe* Now, lets go kick some a**! *runs off*
Sentaro: *nods, takes out his sword, follows Ryo*
Ryo: Take this! *slashes off a few demon heads*
Sentaro: HYAH! *slashes demons in half*
Ryo: Hey, you're good. *sees the few surviving crow demons fly off* They're getting away!
Sentaro: Not for long. *summons water from the ground* Imprison! *sends water to the demons, trapping themin water-bubbles, they drown*
Ryo: Nice move, but I also happen to have a trick or two. *snaps his fingers, summons fire in his hands* Flaming Assault! *throws fire at the crow demons, they get hit and are immediately reduced to ashes* WOOT! We did it!
Sentaro: *puts his weapon away, approaches the small child* Hey, are you all right?
Girl: *whimpering*
Ryo: Don't be scared, we're here to help.
Girl: *looks up*
Sentaro: *gasps* Ryo, stay back! *backs away from the child*
Ryo: What? Why?
Sentaro: Look at those markings on her face, she clearly isn't human. Well.... not entirely human. She's a half-dragon.
Ryo: Holy crap! *jumps back* W-What do we do?
Sentaro: Stay back. *eyes glow*
Ryo: What're you doing?
Sentaro: I'm looking into her mind to see if there's any malice in her.
Ryo: Oh. What's malice?
Girl: *tilts her head, approaches Sentaro, hugs him*
Sentaro: Huh? *eyes stop glowing* Well, looks like we have nothing to worry about. She seems harmless.
Girl: *goes to Ryo, hugs him* Thank you guys, for saving me.
Ryo: Heh, so you can talk.
Sentaro: *gets a wet rag, cleans her wounds* What were you doing here alone?
Girl: I got separated from my cousin and guardian.
Ryo: So, you got lost and accidently ran into a flock of crow demons?
Girl: *nods*
Sentaro: Come with us, we'll get you out of this forest.
Girl: Okay. Oh, forgot to introduce myself. I'm Neko Shiyounin, but please call me Kitty.
Ryo: I'm Ryo Hibiki.
Sentaro: Sentaro Nakamura.
Kitty: Pleased to meet you all. *smiles*
Our three little heroes started heading towards the forest's exit, where Chita and I were searching.
Chita: *gasps* Ryuna-sensei. Look, it's Neko-chan!
Kitty: Chita-neechan! *runs to Chita, hugs her*
Chita: I'm so glad you're okay, cuz.
Ryo: O_o Whoa, they're cousins?
Sentaro: Looks like it. *looks at the silver-haired woman* She's a dragon.
Ryo: What? Really?
Ryuna: *approaches Sentaro and Ryo* Hm, a thief and a psychic?
Kitty: Ryuna-senpai, these two saved my life.
Ryo: It was nothing, we just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Right, Sentaro?
Sentaro: *nods*
Ryuna: I thank you both from the bottom of my heart. And as a way to you my gratitude, allow me to train you boys to be strong, powerful warriors.
Ryo: Powerful warriors, eh? Okay, I'm in. And who knows, maybe Chita-chan might notice me. Hehe.
Sentaro: *bows* I accept your offer, as well.
Kitty: YAY! ^_^
Chita: Heehee, looks like someone's happy. ^^
Kitty: I hope during these long years of training, we end up being friends one day.
Sentaro: So do I.
Ryo: Yea. *raises his scythe* Here's to us being friends.
After years of training together, Kitty, Sentaro and Ryo grew up to be very good friends. Despite years of loneliness and their differences, they became very close and developed a wonderful friendship. I hope that their happiness will last for years to come.
