“My reason may not be as good as hers but if you gentlemen and lady will excuse me.” He left the room quickly and found he was breathing heavily. What is with that woman? She had something I had never seen before…and her Aura…it was… He left that thought alone as he left the building. Matt ran to his car, all pretense of my calm façade gone. He started the car and drove out, barely heeding the speed limit. Damn it Matt. Get your head out of that conflict! You can simply just quit your job and be free of that menace. “No I can’t just quit my job! That is the best thing that ever happened to me!” He replied back. Oh really? Then what about that female? “Who cares about her? Nothing changes. Nothing changes at all.” Oh really? The voice asked again. So if nothing changes, then why are you spooked Matt? “I am not spooked. Why would I be spooked? Quit assuming things.” I am just stating the obvious. “Shut up!” Matt shouted. As you wish Matt, I will shut up. The voice chuckled before leaving him alone. Matt sighed as he turned on to the freeway. That voice was right and he knew it. But he wouldn’t quit his job just because somebody else thought his company was lacking in certain areas. In fact, he would remain there, just to show that woman that he was clearly the best worker, and that he did nothing unusual in his “spare time”. Back at the office though, Miss Kristin was being crystal clear. She wanted to know more about this Matt…the person who challenged her. The other men in the room had fallen under her spell quickly, but he seemed to be unaffected by it as well as that Lily person. She sighed and stood behind Tom as he gave her control of the office and as he passed the leadership to her. Once it was done she smiled and said, “Thank you Tom. Although I have a feeling that the two employees who had left won’t like what you have done, I thank you.” “You don’t have to worry about those two. I’ll keep them as far away from you as you would like.” “Oh Tom…You don’t have to do that for me…I want to get to know one of them…” “Which one would you like to meet? Lily will most likely attempt to kill you.” “Not her…the other one.” “Matt?” “Yes.” She smiled. “He is the one I want to meet.” “Then it shall be done Miss Kristin.” “Oh, you don’t have to continue to call me that Tom. Just call me Kristina.” “Kristina…” Tom said it a couple of times before deciding it suited her. “Very well then Kristina. If you will come right this way, I am sure I can arrange a meeting for you two.” “Thank you very much Tom.” She walked over to the door and opened it. “After you.” Tom nodded as he walked out, followed by Kristina. The other members of that meeting soon followed but they left the building. He finally got home and sat in the car for at least ten minutes. It was still running and he quickly turned it off. He got out, grabbed by black leather briefcase, locked the car and walked to the doorway of his house. Matt looked at the keypad and gave a soft chuckle. It was the new locking system, one that involved a certain code and a certain card.
