Once more she woke to the voices departure. "Good girls don't frown." The night was still upon her. Well, I'm not going to be sleeping anymore. The ringing in my ears is too loud. Almost like the voice. The images she had seen were engraved in her mind like stone. Bruised bodies, stitches, very frightening in her mind.
She decided to get herself up and out of bed. She walked into her bathroom, drawing the water up for a bath. If this is going to be the dream I'm dreaming, I'm going to make it a good one. She turned to the mirror and took a look. New stitches had emerged. They were sewn from ear to ear, as if to show a smile. She traced the stitches with her fingers, lightly touching each one. They hurt. Now that's not right. you aren't supposed to feel pain in your dreams. She also noticed there were new stiches along her arms, leading down into smaller stitches on her fingers. She then noticed that her pajamas had changed back into the red checked dress. Having the fear sweep over her, she looked towards the tub. It had filled up completely and turned off by itself.
She quickly opened the door to the bathroom and ran outside. Her heart still lay there, untouched. Still cold and hard and blue. The writing is gone. Come to think of it, all the blood has just vanished. Almost as if it was never there in the first place. She ran back inside to the bathroom. Locking the door, she plunged straight into the bathtub, not worrying about getting her clothes wet. She opened her eyes under the water and saw the images that were once in her mind, were standing over her. She reached up out of the water, and touched the edge of the bathtub. A cold hand grabbed hers and pulled it up. She tried to scream, but only pulled at her stitches, cause them to hurt.
The hand pulled her up out of the water, another grabbed her other arm. The water in her eyes blurred her vision yet again. She wrestled and fought out of their grip. She fell back, smacking her head against the wall. Falling into the water, she tried to breath in. Feeling the water enter her lungs, she thought This is for sure the end.
And back into her dream she went.
