As I wait anxiously for the guilds updates to go out, I am already working on the next project. But before I get to that, I want to let folks know what the team has identified a bunch of bugs that were plaguing guilds for some time now and they will be included in the next (search/guild tag) release. I know, I know, guilds was neglected for so long...but we're making up for lost time! The devs have been AWESOME about fixing, resolving, cleaning up the bugs with the old and creaky code and we will continue to do that as we move forward. I'll post the list of fixes in the next entry.
Back to the next big thing for guilds. So................the guilds code, as I mentioned, is the oldest on the site, making her 3 years old. The poor devs have been dealing with all the cobwebs and outdated code as we updated the guilds UI and search and new guilds landing page. Our next project will be a circuit application re-write.
Huh?
I know it doesn't sound very sexy, but it is. The devs can go in and clean up and re-write parts of the code that will enable them to be much more efficient (and help them keep their sanity) whenever they have to work on guilds again. This will also allow us to clean up some more bugs, and we're getting squeaky clean(er) week by week.
So if you have a few spare moments, feel free to send a shout out the devs who are giving major love to guilds...pacifisticuffs and diversaurus.
