This is one of my poems. It is free verse, so it doesn't rhyme, but I like it
The eyes are said to be The windows to the soul, Showing things we believe Are better left hidden inside. Some eyes are shimmering and clear, Shining like millions of shards Of flawless crystal Overflowing with wonder. Some blaze with a flame Like an unquenchable inferno Burning beyond the mortal coil With supernatural passion. Still, some are deep and dark Shifting like the waters of the sea Swallowing everything In a chaotic peace. And yet some are blocked. Shallow and muddled, unclear Like a muddy swamp, a bog. Shallow, yet revealing nothing. A person can see everything about you Simply by looking in your eyes. Now what do you believe Your eyes say about you?
