The story of two lovers, ever at the other's side, 'till the end.
But there came a day when "the end," came far too early.
For she left him one day, with a note that merely said she couldn't stay.
So he waited for her to return, second after second, minute by minute.
But those minutes turned into hours and days,
then the days into weeks and months,
and the months into years.
Every year by sad year he waited for her while he faded into nothing.
He faded 'till he was but a shadow of his former self,
just hoping agaisnt hope that his love would return.
He faded into memories,
into the past,
into nothing.
His love had returned, old and frail.
But she wished to be with him still,
and the vicious cycle began,
as the seconds turned to minutes,
minutes to hours,
hours to days,
days to weeks,
weeks to months,
and months into years.
Every burning year went by as she faded as well.
But sooner than she knew,
she and her love were together once more,
away from the pain and torment of their lives.
Together to love for eternity.
