My Soulless Mirror
I shine with a glossy surface,
Piercing my way into his soul,
I see everything he is,
I see his life and his goals,
Reflections of wants and what needs be done,
Reflections of procrastination and all needs gone,
Reflecting loneliness and need of love,
Reflecting bad workmanship and trouble by the tons,
He knows his own problems yet not how to fix them,
Understands the rules but continues to defy them,
With spiked hair and reassurance,
He leaves me with silence.
He comes back to me, sadness in his cheeks coursing,
Showing no tear from his emotionless proportions,
The one he loved taken away,
Still sings his heart out in privacy everyday.
I feel sorrow for him but do not show it,
I do not lie to him and I hope he knows it,
I cannot show him what he wishes to see,
I show him everything he needs to see.
I listen to the lyrics he gives to me,
Watching himself sing with twisted glee,
The words “I hurt myself today” trouble me,
I know it’s a song, but it’s so real, it seems.
So I’ll just watch him grow,
Watch him learn to bestow,
Catch a glimpse of him changing the world,
Catch the sight of him, in the end, nevermore!

Forgive me for what I do.
As grown as I am, lessons are still due.
Forgive me as my dreams continue to waiver,
For I am the one, the unholy Heartbreaker.
As grown as I am, lessons are still due.
Forgive me as my dreams continue to waiver,
For I am the one, the unholy Heartbreaker.
