There was once a girl dubbed Crow, with skin as lovely as midnight and hair as beautiful as the stars above. This strange girl sings every night in a tavern, filled with all sorts of interesting creatures, both beautiful and disfigured. Some looked upon her with disgust, others with awe, mostly aimed not at her dark skin or bright hair or - dare I say it - entrancing beauty, but at her limbs. Her left arm was made of silver metal, always so very very cold, and her right leg of gold, also very cold. There would always be someone wanting to touch those limbs, to take them away for the elements they contained. Every night the girl would sing of her woes, of how her limbs were taken away - by a jealous lover - , of how she couldn't find a soul to confide in, of how there was no one else in the world for her to love. Her voice was beautiful, but also pained, like that of a broken angel's. This sad girl would always end up crying herself to sleep and awakening the next morning with a pain in her heart. One fateful night, all of this lifted. There was someone new in the crowd, a boy with beautiful hair, seeming spun from gold, and eyes as deep and bright as her own. During her performance, the girl noticed the boy was getting closer to her.. Closer and closer to the stage he came, finally stopping at the front row. Nervous, Crow rushed her performance, not use to the intense gaze the boy was giving her. Finally, when it was over and done, she rushed from the stage, only to be caught - by her silver arm no less - and abruptly turned around, faced with the beautiful boy from earlier. "L-Let me go please.." She stammered, not meeting his intense gaze. Silently the boy traced her arm, running his fingers over the cold metal, tracing every intricate design he met. Crow didn't know why she didn't just pull away, but... Somehow she couldn't.. A tiny voice in her head told her to stay, that something good would happen.. So she listened.

Once again, wordless, he led her outside, and she allowed herself to be guided. The moon was bright that night, despite it only being a waning crescent in the sky. "May I... See your leg?" He finally spoke - and what a lovely voice he had - gesturing to her right golden limb. Hesitantly she nodded, removing the fishnet stocking from her golden leg, pulling her skirt back a bit to expose the leg as much as she could without seeming too indecent. The boy knelt down, taking her foot in his hands, repeating the same actions he had earlier with her arm. For a while there was silence between them, the only sound from the wind passing by the ears, but it was faint, as if it were too afraid to break this sacred silence. "How.. How did this happen?" Once again his lovely voice sounded, rich and velvety, breaking the silence. Crow swallowed before sighing, closing her eyes for a moment before parting her lips, explaining exactly how she managed to get her hands on those unnatural limbs.

As stated before, she lost her original ones to a jealous lover. Merrick was his name. She met him one night while she was out with a friend, the both of them attending a play. Merrick had been one of the actors. Her friend - Clara - noticed the look Crow was giving Merrick during his performance and decided to play match-maker, pulling her shy friend with her backstage when the play was over. Merrick was a mysterious flirt, Crow shy but charming. They hit it off perfectly, hardy even noticing when Clara decided to excuse herself to give the two some privacy. The two parted that night with promises of seeing each other the next day for something of a lunch date. Soon one lunch date turned into two, then Merrick started visiting her home and before anyone knew it the two were dating. There was such a chemistry between them, nary a single flaw anyone could point out. The two looked so good together that no one expected for their relationship to end in the way it did. It began with a man named Ike, an old childhood friend of Crow. Whenever Ike was around, Merrick would visibly become possessive over Crow, pulling her away from him and/or making hurtful, cold remarks about the other male. Crow tried to be understanding at first, but held firm in her beliefs that there was no problem with her relationship with Ike. They were simply friend's after all. But, of course, Merrick wasn't having that. There would be occasions where he'd lock Crow up within either her or his own home, keeping her isolated from days. One day she finally had enough and fled, finding her way at Ike's house. "He's mad!" She stated to him simply once he answered the door, wiping the tears from her cheeks that she had no recollection of. Once seated upon the couch in his parlor, she began explaining the situation. Ike listened in silence, nodding every so often. When she finished, he simply looked at her, gathering words before speaking. Ike - being ever the optimist - told her that she needed to sit down with Merrick and talk about it with him. Crow made an attempt to protest, trying to say that it most likely wouldn't work, and Ike silenced her with a finger pressed to her lips, saying that she should at least give it a try. Cor would never come to understand how exactly her friend still managed to have such a hold on her that he got her to give in to whatever request he gave. Finally, she nodded, agreeing. Ike escorted her home in the most silliest of fashions, hoisting her up onto his shoulder, keeping hold of her by her legs, a simple attempt to keep the mood light between the two as she protested. "Now leave before someone catches you.." She whispered to Ike upon arriving at her home, the man kissing her right hand, chuckling at the adorable blush on her face and ruffling her hair before departing. Unfortunately for the two of them, they were seen. Merrick just so happened to be walking and caught the two of them. Instantly his vision went red, gaze staying heavily upon where Ike's hands were placed - ironically on her right leg. And oh.. The kiss.. He especially caught that one.

Late into the night - perhaps early in the morning - Crow awoke to the sound of her bedroom door slamming. Her head immediately snapped up from her pillow, gaze settling on the form of Merrick at the foot of her bed. Before she could even utter a single word, he pounced on her. "Let's see if we can get rid of those impurities on your limbs.." She caught something glinting in his hand - a saw - before her world was violently shoved into a world of pain. Crow could hardly believe it.. He was sawing her leg off.. That night had been filled with her screams as he worked through her flesh, then nerves, right down to the bone. Screams of pain, begging, pleading.. Eventually she tried biting him off, hitting him, doing whatever she could to stop the pain but it was all in vain, each attempt awarding her a smack to her head, leaving her head buzzing and ears ringing. Eventually, due to the pain, her world went black. When she awoke she found herself lying in a bed that was not her own. She shifted, wincing as a sharp pain spread through her left shoulder blade, skin coming in contact with something extremely cold. She looked down, gasping. Her arm - one fleshly and arm - was replaced with a cold metallic form. An old man came into the room then and explained the situation. Her left arm and right leg had been sawed off by Merrick, and some time before that he went on a mad rampage, killing Ike and Clara and just about anyone she'd been friendly with in the process. Somehow they managed to save her life and gave her new limbs, the silver donated from a count on a visit and the gold from a kind, rich widow.

Crow finished her tale, keeping her gaze down at the string of pearls about her neck, moving them through fingers, avoiding any gaze the boy may be giving her. "That is basically what happened to my limbs.." By now the boy was standing, holding her silver arm in his hands. "Every day.. Every waking moment I have these..curses.. To remind me of what a fool I had been.." That beautiful boy released her hand, tugging on the glove of his arm - she hardly noticed them before. "May I show you something?" His voice was quiet. She nodded. The glove was removed, revealing his own arm of metal. "You see.. I'm the same as you only.. I got mine under different circumstances.." He bent down, lifting the pant leg of his left leg, there was metal there as well. It was at that point that some sort of friendship had developed. Each night they would meet after her performance, talking about their past - as much as the boy would want to -, their hopes, their dreams. A love started to develop, slowly, fed by the words they exchanged, every shy touch, every shy glance. To make up for his lack of information about his past, the boy would give her a show of light, making her things out of the common elements found outside. A rose made of stone from a rock, a wooden pendant to go upon a necklace from a tree. Small things that made her love him more and more.. But, as fate would have it, a confession was never made. It happened after one of her performances, during of which she noticed his head of golden hair absent from the crowd. When finished she left the stage, searching, asking everyone if they had seen him. Finally someone gave her information on the boy - whether or not she wanted it. They explained he was dead - by his own hands - and left a letter and an odd pocket watch with her. In the letter he explained that he did not belong to that world, that it was time for him to move on. He said he loved her very much and wished he could stay, but there were things that he still needed to do. He also said for her not to worry about his death, for technically he was never dead at all. Also, on the back of the letter there was a strange circle with intricate designs within it, underneath he explained that anytime she wanted to do what he showed her, to create something from wood or a rock or even repair a vase - all she had to do was draw that circle and press her hands to it.

His body was buried shortly after the letter was read - in the dead of night - and she mourned his loss, even though he stated that he technically was, in fact, alive. To this day she still dreams about the boy with the metal limbs who could make beautiful things in a flash of light, simply by clapping his hands together. The only proof of his existence was a strange circle, a letter and a silver pocket watch. Still she dreams that they will one day meet again..

[[Ah xD Took forever to write! Can you guess who the boy is? >w< You should, it really isn't that hard ._.]]
