I was floating. I watched my name change from Arreis to my new name, Rexrias. I spoke it, claiming it as mine. I heard another voice, deep, familiar, speak it after I did. Images passed through my head, my home, the invasion, wandering through Traverse Town, then I saw my former self talking to a boy with lavender-gray hair. "Zexion..." I whispered, I could hear him speak. I felt something now, silk wrapped around my body, arms cradling my upper body, and a hand stroking my face. Something was happening to my body, it felt like something growing over me. The images faded away, I heard voices, my friends. I stayed there in the emptiness for a while longer, hoow long I didn't know (it turned out to be a few weeks, Zexion told me). I could feel his presence, stroking my face and whatnot.(Larxene told me that she was bringing Zexion some water and snacks, and she found sound asleep with his arms around me).
I woke up in his arms. My eyes were still closed, but I was awake. "Arre...Rexrias!" he exclaimed hugging me tightly. I opened my eyes to meet his, something had scared him. "What's wrong?" I asked "Your eyes, they're red!" he told me. "Your safe, that's all that matters to me". He kissed me softly. I sat up and walked over to the mirror. I jumped back in shock.
He was right, my eyes were blood red, not the aquamarine they were before. My hair cascaded to the floor, there were black ribbons wrapped around my chest and hips. What shocked me was the dragon on my chest had changed and more markings had surfaced on my body. I was covered in them. My wings spread out. They were larger and more dragon-like. Zexion's reflection appeared in the mirror next to mine. He hugged me and kissed my cheek.
" You scared me to death, Rexrias. I thought I lost you." he squeezed me tightly. "Watching you transform, lose your heart...I"m sorry. I failed you." He hung his head in disappointment. "What do you mean, Zexion?" "I let you get hurt! I promised you that I'd never let anything happen to you! I swore to protect you from Brigonith! And now, you've lost your heart." I kissed him to stop him from talking. " You fought for me, that's all I wanted from you. I knew Brigonith was too strong for us, but you fought for me. You caught me. You stayed with me. That's all I ask from you." I said, stroking his cheek.
He took my hand in his, kissing it. "Thank you, Rexrias." "Now don't bum yourself out again, it makes me feel bummed!" we laughed. "Come on. Get dressed so the others can see you." We seperated and I went through my closet to find something with a low back so my wings wouldn't be damaged. I went into my bathroom to change. When I came out in a black halter mini-dress and black boots, he let out a soft whistle and took my hand. He motioned to come on. We ran downstairs, hand in hand.
