Alrighty.....Turkey day has came and went and boy, what a time I had (not all in a good way either). So folks, here goes.....
The night before thanksgiving, which would be wednesday, we spent the day with my family which would be my mom, her hubby and my 3 siblings. Well, let's just say things weren't all calm and cool for most of the night....My little bro has ADHD so he was bouncing off the walls and aggravating my youngest sis. So they got into it and started getting physical. Well my mom finally got wind of it after they had taken it upstairs and she proceded to follow them and slap them both upside their heads and send them to their rooms. I wasn't very happy about it but I don't live there anymore so I said nothing. I just sat there while the kids were acting up and she was "dissiplining" them. So the rest of the night was shitty.
Next day we had lunch @ 1pm with my family. It went pretty well and the food wasn't bad. My moms turkey WAS a bit dry though wink
After that was over @ 3pm we (bf, daughter & I) went to his moms to visit since we missed their lunch. We stayed there till around 6pm and headed for my grams.
Now mind you, my gram is in her 60's and hasn't cooked a holiday meal in over 15 yrs since my mom took over. So we were all leary about eating with her. We got there and the food wasn't ready....Then the rools and turkey got a little too brown....AND while she was answering the door when we arrived she left the gravy on high on the burner....It over flowed and flames started shooting out of it!! She got it under control but it was pretty smoky in there afterwards, like burning your eyes smoky blaugh
Needless to say she got everything done and we sat down to eat. I have to say that for not cooking a big meal in quite a few years she did a damn good job. The turkey was sooo moist, even better than my moms wink Everything else was pretty good too. We stayed till around 8:15pm cause I wanted to watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving redface It's just not a holiday unless you watch the charlie brown holiday shows biggrin
So we went back to my moms from there and goofed off till it was time to put our child to bed and then we proceded to goof around some more till around midnight. We went to bed and slept till 5am when I was startled to hear our daughter gagging and making choking puky sounds. Turns out she had thrown up a little sad I felt so bad for her...We cleaned her up and stayed awake with her for about a half hour to make sure she would be ok. Then we went back to sleep and got up around 9:30am. Since we got up it's kinda been go go go since we'll be returning home sometime tomorrow.
That about sums up my holiday experience. The only thing missing was the family argument and my mom acting retarded and rude. So I guess things went well after all smile I only hope everyone else had a good time if you celebrated. So take care people and I'll return soon with more snippits from my boring life xp
