Dream: Cos_co-Friends
Today, I had a dream that my friend, Vanessa, was working at a department store (sort of like Cos_co). And she encouraged me to go work there.
All employees were required to have a photo ID.
Therefore, I came in to the store with her and she went to go talk to them about getting my photo ID taken. While she did that, I went wandering in the store.
I don’t know why I wandered off. Maybe I thought if I was gonna start working, I might as well get myself familiar with the area.
As I kept on walking through aisles and turning corners, I came to a snacking section. I spotted a young mermaid and a tiny little elf.
The young mermaid was crying to the small elf.
I overheard their conversation.
“They took a photo ID of me, and it looks terrible! See?! It’s all pixelated!” The mermaid was really upset.
The elf listened with a bored expression on his face.
The mermaid kept crying. “I demand a retake of my photo!”
Usually photo IDs were from the head up only. I think she wanted to capture her whole body into the photo.
“It has to be perfect! I really hope they don’t screw it up the second time around.”
The elf flatly replied, “Uh huh.”
As their conversation continued, I tried to sneak my way past them. But my body brushed against the snack bags, which made a loud crackling noise.
They noticed me, and the elf came after me.
“HEY!” he cried.
I bolted off, trying to run as fast as I could without slipping on the polished concrete floor. I ran straight and turned a bunch of corners until I found myself in a completely new aisle.
Then Vanessa appeared. She said, “There you are! I’ve been looking all over for you!”
I turned around to check if the elf found me, but no one was there.
The next day, I came into Cos_co and walked towards the same aisle where I last saw the elf and the young mermaid.
I was hoping to see them again and hold a proper conversation at least. And maybe apologize for overhearing their conversation.
“I’m sorry I ran away last time.” I tried to apologize. “I couldn’t help overhearing your guys’ conversation because I also needed to get my photo ID taken, so I was curious how—.”
And I did manage to find them. The mermaid appeared out of thin air, and so did the elf. Except, the elf was human-sized now!
The mermaid was happy and giggly this time.
“Guess what?!” She said to me, “I managed to get my photo ID fixed! Doesn’t it look so much better?”
I looked at it up-close and saw that they took a clear, full body photo of her; it wasn’t pixelated at all.
“Yes,” I said with a genuine smile. “It looks good.”
Then I turned to the elf who was still sitting, with his head resting on one hand. He looked even more bored.
I sat down next to him.
He seemed unfazed, but at least I know he wasn’t upset.
I tried to ask the elf, “Why do you look so sad?”
I don’t remember what happened next, except that we did end up playing tag together.
The end.
