Throughout our day-to-day lives, we are forced to look back at history constantly. Whether it's one of those Canadian History Moment (You US-ians won't know what I'm talking about here, but they're these commercials which re-cap important moments in Canadian development, or as I like to call it Restocking the Ice Tray) or some bad music video which has sleazy rock bands wearing tuxes and stetson hats, we're forced to think about all the stuff that already happened.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying history is a bad thing, I'm saying... I'm a little bit jealous. Yeah, that's right. I'm envious of a decade, green for a time, itching for an era, and any other ridiculous sayings which state that the good ol' days were better. Admit it, the first time you do anything is way better than every other time. Think back to that Dr. Tran movie. I've seen it about ten times now, and it's still good for a laugh. However, it will never compare to that first time I saw it. Hickory smoked buttholes from a cup is funny only once.
That's why I think we should do things only once and then never, ever do them again! And once they're done, everybody agrees to never do 'em again. Like... Someone jumps off a cliff and survives. That's it! No one else gets to jump off cliffs anymore. We shut them down, permanently. Someone makes a really good cake, with like... Caramel AND vanilla frosting on it. No more caramel X vanilla cakes. That's the end of 'em.
Sure, it could mean the end of civilization within weeks... But at least those weeks would be exciting.
...Mm...Caramel and vanilla would be pretty sweet actually...
