I'm pretty content, I had a good weekend, and got some good news at the same time.
Friday I went with Kalen to go pick up Dead Rising, and I went to Starbucks while he was in EB Games. I was suprised to see Tai was a barista there, and we chatted it up while he took forever to get my drink, he told me to say hi to Sonja for him.
We chilled at Kalen's house, and I just watched him play N3 and Dead Rising, he let me borrow his DS Lite in exchange to borrow my Gamecube. He was supposed to buy Super Smash Bros. Melee so he could start playing again, but he never did, plus he never borrowed any of my games, so I don't know what he could be doing with my Gamecube. Eh, he hasn't complained so far, and I get to play Jump Superstars, so I shouldn't be complaining.
Dead Rising is so much fun, I wish I could start my own save file, but it's fine just watching Kalen play it anyway, I was never really good at handling survivor horror games unless I really want to play them, for now I just want to watch the game and see how it progresses, then try my hands at it when he's done with it, just like his DS, which I knew he'd get bored with fast, Kalen's like that with most things, I just need to have patience, grasshopper.
A little before 7 he dropped me off at The Orleans, because there was a J-Team/LVO Meetup to go see Snakes on a Plane. I was worried because we got there like 15 minutes late and I thought everyone would be gone into the theatre and went off without me, but I got lucky, no one had really showed up, I found Jen standing by the DDR Supernova machine.
The movie was awesome, I'd actually like to go see it again. It's one of those, "It's so bad it's good" kind of movies, I think all the people who really wanted to see it had already watched it, because it seemed like everyone in the theatre but our group was taking the movie too seriously, we were sitting in the back dying of laughter.
We got out, hung out at the arcade for a little bit, and Tony was really cool and drove me home, so I waved him off to see him the next day.
When I woke up, I made sure it was a lot later than last time, I left at the same time when I go to Anime Vegas, and I was waiting there for about 2 hours, after I'd even eaten breakfast, it's nice to see everyone else have to bust their a** to watch anime, even if they do get rides. stare
We finally got to see Paradise Kiss, which I was happy, it seemed like people were interested in it, then Elfen Lied, then Densha Otoko, then we had our break. I sat with Jasmine and Jennifer most of the time, joking and laughing, Jason got stuck carding people at the door again, and Veronica was out in Cali I think.
While we were eating at SONIC, Jennifer explained to me the concept of Cutie Honey, which was the live action movie we were going to watch next. I never really had heard about it, I guess I was too young. From what I can remember, it was one of the first "magical girl" series made, and the creator I guess made some other interesting series. Maybe I should Wiki it. xd
The movie was really nice, it was corny, but it looked like it knew it was corny and was playing off of that I like when series do inside inside jokes. I actually did look it up right now, and it actually seems like a good series, apparently even popular magical girl series like Sailor Moon stole some elements. That might interest Sonja a little bit. 3nodding
Then we watched Kamen Rider Kabuto, Monster, and another episode of Elfen Lied, we're almost done with that I guess. Overall, this showing went much smoother than the last one, we even finished a little early. I'm looking forward to the next one.
When I got home, I got a call from Target, and they scheduled my orientation for this Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. So I'm excited about that, I finally get this in order, I just need to prepare for school and I'll be all set for this turnaround of work work work.
I just need to go buy some red polo shirts and khaki pants. sweatdrop
