Well this is my very first entry and I should perhaps get it underway by discussing a bit, or rather a lot, about me. For those who wish to read this tale, go right ahead.
I suppose I should start with general background information. My name is Matthew but I prefer to be called "Matt". I am 19 years old and I am a second year university student living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Been there my entire life actually. Nice place, but nothing to special, in my opinion. I am an only child and living with my two wonderful parents. They have motivated me and taught me very good morals my entire life. They have always been good to me even in bad times and for that I thank them greatly.
I do not have many many friends. See to me I sort of live by this idea of "quality over quantity." I'd rather have a few good friends than have a lot of bad friends. Know what I mean? But a part of the reason to not having a lot of friends is I am a little shy. I am not one to just stand up and talk to people. At first I am a little shy, but once I get to know the person I open up to them.
This shyness really carries over to my love life, or lack thereof. I have never had a girlfriend before. I suppose it is a lack of confidence in myself. I am not quite sure. I try, but in the end I fail. I have not given up hope though. At times it may seem hopeless and pointless, but something inside me says to continue on. My father once told me "never give up." I have lived by that motto for my life and would rather die trying than to live and not try at all.
I am a nice person who can be a little stubborn at times. I guess it is that small determination to succeed. I am caring though and often put other's feelings over mine. I feel that being fully selfish will get you no where in life. I am nothing really extraordinary. Just another human in this world.
For hobbies and interests, I like all kinds of music, which expands to music not in English such as Japanese and Hindi music. I am always a fan of trying new things, especially when it comes to food. The only food I don't really like is curry. I also like playing soccer, surfing the internet sometimes, and hanging out with my friends. It does not matter what we do, it's always a good time wherever my friends are.
Finally, I live by a motto that goes "regardless of warnings, the future doesn't scare me at all." I feel that no matter what challenges face me, I will stand tall and face them with full confidence. I believe in myself, no matter how tough life gets and believe that I shall succeed..
