The other day after I showed everyone the OC Remixes I found online at school, Josh found a really nice one from Street Fighter II, called Vega's Ballad. It's a really nice acoustic guitar playing the theme from Vega's Stage, it sounds very flamenco and Spanish, almost as if the game could have adapted the music from this song instead of the other way around. It's very peaceful, but it also sounds kind of porno-ey. eek
(By the way, just so you know, Scarlet Terror is Vega's nickname, it probably has something to do with his alleged interest in hemotophagy.)
I'm having a good couple days off, I'm loving this free time, and Project Runway's finally coming on tonight. I found out one of my friends, [Aniseed.Junkie], is familiar with Post Secret, which is really cool. I think I might send one of them myself and see if it's ever posted. Of course I'd never tell anyone. talk2hand ninja
I don't know why, but I really enjoyed English today, we analyzed Process Essays and we sort of picked at a piece that Malcolm X wrote. I'm trying to see if it's ever been posted somewhere on the internet, but all could find was a little excerpt from a forum, here. It's entitled, "My First Conk". I had no idea what a conk was, and the story kind of eventually tells you, but I wanted to look up the official definition of the word, and the Wikipedia Entry has a good explanation, and it references the story.
I just enjoy the process of reading a story, and then tearing it apart to see where it's coming from, it's nice to try and get a look at how people write and why. It makes me wonder if sometimes the authors enjoy this sort of cross-examination, so I decided that if I ever write a piece, I'm going to hide it's meaning within the contents of my own mind, and when they try to pick at what it's all about, I'll come out and just exclaim this totally outlandish meaning that will throw them all off. Sometimes I think most writers do that anyway, they try to gauge other people's reactions and try to see what someone else thinks of it. Especially when they get a reaction they weren't expecting, that makes it even more interesting.
We were asked to turn in our Project Proposals for Psychology today. I decided to do mine on a person's memory involving different types of perception. I was really drawing a blank on what to do for a long time, it's hard to just pull out an idea so quickly, and a lot of people just decided to do self-behavior studies, which seems to me like a cop-out on doing something difficult, although personally I rate my experiment a high school level project as well. But when you're doing something on your own where the only resources are ones that are literally always at your disposal, it'd be cake to bullshit your results or findings.
I need to plan a time to see everyone at work or something. Yesterday after I got out of school, I was hoping to see Russell yesterday, and when I got home Kalen and I played Super Smash Bros. Melee for a little while, and I figured this would be a great opportunity to see who was better out of the two of them, and we'd all enjoy playing some games. I called up his house to tell him he could head over then, but when his Mom picked up the phone she told me he had gone to work, which suprised her as well, because for one thing he's supposed to be off on Tuesdays, and he's not exactly the type to take call-ins.
I got to hang out with Kelly and Sophia a lot last night though, we sat around watching Law and Order and eating pretzels, and then Sophia watched The Wiggles, and she showed me all the new dances she's learned, she's getting so smart, widdle genius high-fived me. She's been really affectionate, she jumped on me and then sat in my lap and wriggled to get comfortable, looked up at me and smiled like, "Oh, this is a good spot, I think I'll stay a while."
Also, when we scare each other, she likes to pretend she's freaking out, and she'll fall on the floor sprawled out on her stomach like she's fainted or something, it's the funniest thing.
I think I just figured out my idea for my "How To" essay that's due on the 9th: How To Work The Sales Floor At Target. I was worried the idea would suck earlier or be a copycat, because the example used in our textbooks was Security Officer who worked at Target and was explaining how to apprehend shoplifters. No fair! Why did it have to be Target of all places, I thought working there might be a good example and be unique... crying
I guess it is what it is. rofl
Oh yeah, and today was Google's 8th Birthday. They deserve to be celebrating, the Internet would be a strange place without that company, I'd love to work for them one day. They have a new feature where they'll be taking interfaces and graphics that you could send to them as ideas to expand Google even further. It sounds exciting. talk2hand
