While she sat frozen in a forest of snow and silence Her eyes were sealed shut with ice Once full of so much life and hope Now she lay in a lifeless sleep One could only imagine the fear that had filled her heart As she sat alone, with only the trees to keep her company the silence in that forest was deadly It meant no one was looking for her Nobody cared enough to find the runaway A runaway that, some may say, is now better off Bruises on her body didn't come from the snow or the woods It was her father who said he loved her, and left It was her mother who had to let it out She let her anger, pain, sorrow, everything fall onto one girl The snow flakes held onto the girl They gave her love Love she was deprived of at home But the love they offered her was a trap The comfort was needed, and it was delivered But the source of the love was so cold and misleading It froze her to death It froze her tears and bruises along with her soul Her life was an ambiguous book Was she better tortured and living Or dead but free While she sat frozen in a forest of snow and silence
