She was the daughter of Hermes. Her father was the god of thieves and always delivered packages to the other gods. Well, most greek children dream of getting a car for their sixteenth birthday, but she got winged shoes just like her fathers. One day, while dear old daddy was out drinking with the god of wine, Dionysus, she decided to try out her new shoes. She got a running start and leaped into the air. She hovered above the ground for a few seconds, but then she lost control and fell off Mount Olympus. She was then forced to live with the mortals, because Hermes was too embarrassed of her.
The moral of the story is this: Always have a licensed driver accompany you when you try out your new flying-shoes.
