Yes, it's almost Valentine's day, the time of year when I rant about how much I hate valentine's day. And I even have very good reason for it, other than the stereotypical (Read in valley girl voice, it adds more comedy) "You just don't like it because you don't have anyone to enjoy it with."
Well, here's what I have to say to that: Damn right. I don't think it's all that great if it has no value at all to EVERYONE. I have no use for it- in fact, I see it as just another way to group people and make other people feel inadequate.
People become very jealous of others, and some even fight over others as a valentine. I see it as just one more way to be seen as not a part of the "stereotypical herd." I may have no place to say this, but I haven't seen anyone else I know express true love to ANYBODY on valentine's day. By that, I mean caring, heart-felt (not to be confused with lust-inspired) love.
I think that's about it for my rant. Flame me if you wish, this is just my opinion.
