I want to trust you
I want to have no fear
Why couldn’t this be simple?
Why couldn’t the answer be plain and clear?
I want to believe
That you’ll always catch me when I fall
But how can I trust
That you’ll always come when I call?
I pray everyday
That I can open up my heart
So that after all this waiting
Our relationship can start
But my heart’s been frozen over
For such a very long time
Yet it is the thought of him
That allows me to turn my thoughts into rhyme
It would all be so perfect
If my defense against the world wasn’t so strong
In my mind I know my desires are right
It’s my heart that thinks their wrong
