its my first journal woo!
yet another dream
I was just sitting on my friends couch, I’d never been to her house before and I was looking around, the only light was coming form a large bay window behind me. I remember feeling lost but knowing where I was at the same time, it was like being in a different country everything looks the same houses, people, cars, furniture; but you don’t know the customs or the laws and you feel lost amongst everything that is familiar. I didn’t know where my friend was she had left… I wasn’t really sure if shed ever been there to begin with actually, but I was about to call out for her when I heard a siren in the distance it was weak like it hadn’t been used in years crackling and faded. I turned and looked out the large window, all I saw was a glaring whiteness, the siren was growing louder and stronger; I didn’t know what it meant but I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach and a feeling of being enveloped by the whiteness. I didn’t know when, but I had put my hand on the glass, it was hot to the touch despite the cool temperature of the room. I was suddenly facing the room again and my friend was looking at me, her hand on my shoulder from when she grabbed me. She was yelling about something, her voice was distant the siren seemed as if it was sounding off right into my ear though I know it had to be miles away. She was saying something about mirrors, all I could do was stare at her as a ringing started in my ears; she grabbed my arm and led me quickly into her bed room. She was still yelling and I still couldn’t hear her. I could barely focus on her, the ringing in my head felt like finger nails were scratching the inside of my skull. I was thrown onto my knees in front of a full length mirror leaning against her wall, I looked up to see my eyes looking back at me they were vacant and didn’t seem like my own.

I didn’t have much time to investigate the stranger’s eyes looking back at me because my friend bent me over and put my hands over my head like I needed to take cover from something. It felt good to take cover to protect myself, I didn’t know what it was I was protecting myself from but I felt a growing urge to run. The siren suddenly stopped, only the ringing in my head remained, I felt sick in the pit of my stomach I clutched my head harder trying to make it all stop, hunched on my knees in front of a mirror I was too scared to look at. Have you ever known that there was someone in the room without having to look? You can just feel their presence? Imagine that presence magnified by a hundred. I heard a sound like metal being torn in half, it came from the mirror and I could feel something leaking into the room its presence growing stronger and stronger. I held my breath trying to focus on what ever it was, trying to dampen the ringing in my head that had only gotten worse the scratching in my head felt like someone was groping around searching for things I didn’t want anyone or anything to find. There was a screeching like nails on a chalk board and then it felt as though there was someone next to me, but I knew it wasn’t my friend, or human for that matter. The things presence felt as though it was swallowing me I could hardly breathe, the air was thick. I couldn’t think the being amplified the groping feeling in my head, and I could feel it looking through all my feelings, thoughts, and secrets. I clutched my head tighter curling into a tighter ball, I wanted to shrink away from the presence that was next to me but I couldn’t move away.

Despite the horrible feeling of being swallowed by a greater presence and my mind being invaded I wanted, even more then getting away from the thing, to see what ever it was that was in the room; what ever it was that the sirens had brought with their sounding. I put all the concentration I could gather into opening my eyes, the room was still dimly lit but my eyes burned and blurred as though I had just seen daylight for the first time. The second my eye lids opened everything was gone, I was utterly alone, my mind was my own again though It felt as though I could feel scars on the inside of my skull where what ever it had been scratching around. I could finally breathe again and I let go of my head sitting up slowly my arms were shaking from adrenalin and tightening my muscles for so long. I looked into the mirror and my eyes were my own again, though I couldn’t tell you why they hadn’t been mine before, what the difference had been but it was gone. I saw a crack down the center of the mirror in the center there was a small hole, the mirror cracked like a spider web from the hole out for a few inches. I leaned in closer my one reflection braking into a hundred against the broken sections. I saw a single line of black seeping from the hole running smoothly down the surface of the mirror, before I thought better of it I was reaching out and touching it. When I looked at my hand the liquid had stained my fingers the color of blood the black had smeared into red on my hand and mirror. Then I woke up, I was in my bed staring at my ceiling, the feeling of being lost was gone but I could still remember how it felt to have that thing searching the inside of my head.
