Is anyone listening?
I'll probably just be venting, or talking about my favorite video game or manga.
MMORPG's
In this entry I'm going to be talking about the free MMO's I've played and how I rated them.

Mabinogi- ****
A very good game. You can do everything from cast spells to sew clothes, and with everything there is a new way to do so. You can join partys to fight in dungeons, or sit around a campfire hearing someone play music on a lute that was written by themselves. The movement system isn't exactly innovative, a simple point and click, but looking around is a lot easier. The fighting system still has a few bugs with it, such as attack range. However it starts you off with a good couple of tutorial quests, and while choosing your character, you can pick everything from eye color to age(10-17)! The downside is that you can only have ONE character unless you buy more from nexon, as well as a few other things you can't get. (mainly pets and storage expansion)

Wonderland Online-**
It's a different MMO with a RTS battle system, but it throws you into the game without even a tutorial. You can't get a weapon until you beat a moderately difficult quest with bad instructions and the graphics is just simple sprites. You can't even change the angle of viewing. There is , however, a nice pet system where you can capture your enemies to fight for you or to ride on.

Fiesta-****
It's kinda like a simpler WoW. Very little is new or innotive, but what is, is good. This is one of the few free MMO's that have a riding system for free. You buy skills to learn for one of 4 classes. (The usual mage, warrior, archer and cleric). the fighting is the regular point and click, and you assign skills to hotkeys to use. The tutorial is a very good one, sending you into gameplay slowly, while teaching you what you need to know. The cash system is the same as WoW, 1000 copper=1 silver, 1000 silver=1 gold, 1000 gold=1 gem, so transactions between characters are alot simpler.

Combat Arms-****
A very good FPS downloadable from Nexon. It has couple good levels, the control system is simple enough to pick up and play easily. There are plenty of choices for weapons, everything from mines to sniper rifles and modifications for all the guns. However you can only buy them for a limited amount of time, eg, you can buy a rocket launcher for 800, but you can only use it for a day unless you spend a lot more money. It has an interesting ranking system and is still young so it is still being added onto all the time.

Audition-***
Another Nexon MMO, even though it's also another non-RPG. It's a pretty simple game where you get in a group with other people and then press the arrow keys it shows you and then pres space bar on the beat. It's simple enough for anyone to play, and it has music from plenty of different bands. However to customize your character you have to pay money.

MapleStory-****
The fourth Nexon MMO I've played and reviewed, this is a cute 2D RPG which is pretty rare now. Even though it's 2D the gameplay is a solid system which requires you to have 2 hands on the keyboard at all times. There are 4 basic classes, and you get to pick one at level 10. You can seriously customize your character with different clothes. It get's really annoying to level at a certain point like most RPG's but there are so many skills you can still have fun while doing so.

FlyFF-***
When I got on this, it looked pretty good with a flying system, keyboard movement and hey, you can jump! But the tutorial doesn't work very well, plus there isn't a noobs only area, so you're dealing with lots of spam from when you begin. I couldn't find my way to any quests due to lack of any help from the tutorial, although the fighting system is pretty typical. I didn't get to a high enough lvl to test out the flying, although it looked pretty fun, so I'm assuming it's fun.

LaTale-****
Another 2D MMORPG, although compared to Maplestory, this wins. The characters are taller than Maple, plus better proportioned. The tutorial was a little weak, but it's an easy game to pick up. The default control scheme was a little, odd, but you can tweak it to how you like it. You pick which class you wanna be from the beginning, and that affects your skills and weapons. It's still new though, so you'll find some bugs and glitches.

Asda Story- ***
The movement is mouse, so it doesn't give you much control. There are 3 classes, warrior, archer and mage with subclasses based on which weapons you use. The warriors are split between one handed swords, two handed swords and spears. The archers are split between bow, crossbow and ballista. The skills follow the traditional skill tree, with different skill tree's for each weapon. The interesting feature is the soul mate, a gf/bf type thing, except that you have special skills you can only do with them. Armor all has the exact same defensive capabilities, you have to add special stones that add abilities.

Metin2-****
A fairly basic MMORPG, has keyboard movement, and even though it's 3D, you can attack without a target. You can customize your armor by upgrading it, several classes. Nothing special about this, but it's a very solid game. The enemies all come in groups of three, so you generally have to be the same lvl as them.

Perfect World International-*****
The closest thing to WoW that I've found for free. You can buy mounts, including flying mounts. There are 3 different species with 2 classes per species. First there is human, with Blademaster and Sorcerer. Then there is the Untamed, with the animal Berserker and the Venomancer. Last but not least are the Winged Elfs, with Archers and Clerics. Blademasters specialize in close combat, but have some long-range skills. Sorcerers deal with long-range magic and have weak defense. The Berserkers have high defense and medium attack, and must be male. They can transform into tigers at lvl 9. Venomancers have medium range skills that cause status problems, and must be female. At lvl 7 they can tame monsters to control and at lvl 9 can transform into foxes. Both class winged elfs can fly from lvl but it drains mana. Archers specialize in long-range combat with medium defense. Clerics have medium range magic as well as some healing abilities.
