This is the tale of a girl and her love, and the eye patch she wore to protect herself from being hurt.
Once upon a time, in the land of Gaia, there was a girl named Tara Storm. She had a normal life, running a little store and drawing art for others on the side. That is, until one day she had her heart broken by a boy. When she left the boy, she started to see images of him in one of her eyes. She decided to wear an eye patch in that eye to prevent her from seeing him, for the pain was too much for her to bear.
That is, until one day, half a year later the girl met another man. This man seemed nice, but the girl knew that all guys seem so nice in the beginning, but they just cause you pain in the end. This man's intentions were good, and he would not give up so easily on the girl. Even though she rejected him time and time again, he would keep coming back telling her of his love for her.
One day, when the man asked her to please just give him a chance, the girl didn't just say no, instead she looked him in the eye and said, "Do you know what this eye patch is for?"
The man looked stunned. "Because you are blind in one eye?"
"NO!" the girl said. "It's more than that. This is to remind me to never fall in love again. To not let myself be blinded by love and end up being hurt again!"
The man reached towards the girl and lifted up her eye patch. The girl flinched at the sudden sight of her ex love, and quickly closed her eyes. The man pulled her closer and kissed her closed eyelid. The girl was shocked and pulled herself away from the man. Her eyes opened again, and to her surprise, the image of the boy was no longer there. She stared at the man in disbelief.
The man then said, "I can't promise I'll never hurt you, but I will always love you. You can't run and hide away forever. It's ok to love again. It's ok to move on with your life."
The girl started crying, but at the same time felt happier than she had since she had broken up with the boy. She knew she'd never get over the boy, completely, and that a part of her would love him forever. But at the same time, it was ok for her to start moving on with her life. "Alright, I'll let you take me out on a date." she smiled through her tears.
The girl then began the healing process. She still wears the eye patch occasionally to this day, but she is no longer bound to it like she was in the past. Her life has moved on, and she has become a stronger person.
