Continuation Of before
The scent lingered in the air then a pungent smell slowly crept into the glorious aroma. The smell slowly became stronger as she neared the house. She had smelt it before but only a few times. Memories came crashing down on her as she tried to discern the caustic fragrance. She had smelt that before but it was very long ago. She quickened her pace hoping, praying that everything was just a misunderstanding. The branches seemed to bar her way like soldiers guarding a forbidden shrine. She fought through the soldiers spears finally halting before the place that was guarded by nature. The smell finally overpowered her and she gag as the stench of rotting flesh and blood combined in her body.
Mr. Lowns laid there. His eyes still screaming in terror. Her body moved suddenly reaching towards him. She tried to stop herself but when she realized what she was doing she let herself just abandon her body to do its own will. The hand crept over his face and gently rubbed across the skin of his eyes closing them for eternity. Sudden panic swept through her. Where was Mrs. Lowns? She ran inside finding the door rarely unlocked. As she entered fear clenched at her throat halting her breath.
Mrs. Lowns stood towering over her. Like an oppressing giant about to crush his victim. The weapon though she held was far more dangerous that a giants crushing heal for it would open a door into a place which she would never be able to turn from. Once that weapon was wielded she knew that there was no going back to normality. Mrs. Lowns stooped down and handed her that cruel piece of scratched glass still able though to reflect images that attacked it from many sides. As the glass grazed over her fingers shredding the delicate top layer of skin she raised the mirror to her face finally seeing the image others had seen for many years. The reflection shocked her, the very shape of her head was different that what she was seeing for so many years around her. Her eyes a different color. Her face with more intense angles. Her skin seemed different around her face than her arms. Her skin seem to waver in the light. Mrs. Lowns looked down with a disgusted look on her face that replaced the normally cheerful smile.
“you killed him… didn’t you? Those marks on him were of a beast. You’re the only one that is a beast. It wasn’t the forest beasts they don’t come down here… it was you!” she lunged forward with a knife in the place of the mirror she had gave her a few minutes ago. The world seemed to slow around her. Her opponent’s movements were seemed to linger on through the dimensions of time. Lariel Stood there for what seemed a lifetime before she finally got the message of the occurring events. She was about to be killed by the women who first accepted her in their small isolated community. The knife plummeted toward her face. The one thing that instantly separated her from the world of man. She knew now that she must act. The knife came in full arch towards her. Her body one again took control over her and guided her hand towards the glistening blade. Suddenly a green light sprang from her fingertips like live fire. It wrapped around the knife immobilizing it in midair.
