All the grade eights went to the zoo yesterday. I was with Amanda, Kristen, Phoebe and Dana. I found it pretty fun, except the walking up the hills part. I saw so many animals; I have got to upload a few pics I took soon. The animals were great, especially the Orangutans.
I had an apple, two croissants, and half a Harvey's cheeseburger combo. The fries and burgers were good, but I gave my drink to Tina. The cashier lady made me get a combo, saying that I'd pay more if I didn't.
During the trip, we had these booklets to answer specific questions and to draw in. There was one time when I couldn't see a thing and still had to answer a question, so when I got into the light, I couldn't even read my own writing. I wrote like a two year old.
When we met back at 4:15 PM, we left the zoo and stood in front of the parking lot. The buses were supposedly coming at 4:30 PM, so a fifteen minutes wait wasn't too bad. The first bus to arrive was bus three, Amanda's. She's been complaining about being split up all the time, and now she's the lucky one. She went onto the bus and felt the warmth of the heater.
Us? We were still outside in the freezing cold. Amanda's bus decided to leave early, so they left 3/4 of the grade eights out in the cold. At this time, it was 5 o'clock and still no sign of the other buses. Finally, one bus came. But it wasn't ours. Then another bus came. It wasn't ours. The teachers had to radio into the busing station to get one for us. We had to wait an extra half hour for it to come.
We were of course freezing our butts off. I couldn't feel my toes, hands or feet. They let us stand in the aisles of the other buses to keep us warm, although it didn't do very much. I still felt cold.
It was around six o'five, and our bus finally came. And I was prepared, to sue the bus driver. I sat with Kristen, and just talked about random things, played the 'would you rather' game, all that stuff you do when there's nothing else to keep you entertained. Since we sat in the front and all our friends were at the back, we felt isolated.
Nevertheless, I had a good time. We got home at seven o'six, my dad waiting to pick me up. Thank goodness.
