Math Manipulation

These mathamatical manipulations use Algebra II Equations and functions. To understand this, you may need to know a things, such as:
'/(####) = square root
/ = division
* = Multiplication
^# = exponent
i = '/(-1)
i^2 = -1
i^3 = '/(1)
i^4 = 1
variables will be used... (PS: any previously posted versions i have seen proven wrong. if you see anything wrong with a currently posted version, please tell me.)

ab = b^2______________MULTIPLY BY b
ab-a^2 = b^2-a^2______SUBTRACT BY a^2
a(b-a) = (b-a)(b a)___FACTOR
a = b a_______________DIVIDE BY (b-a)
a = a a_______________SINCE a=b, SUBSTITUTE
a = 2a________________SIMPLIFY
1 = 2 ________________DIVIDE BY a
