Before I became a professional duelist, I worked on a cruise ship as a card dealer. There I began playing Duel Monsters for money and found I had quite a knack for dueling. I must admit, I cheated at times. I would coat each card in a different perfume fragrance and, by the scent, I would know what card I was going to draw.
I was invited to partake in the Duelist Kingdom tournament held by Pegasus. At that time, I was only worried about money, clothes, jewelry, and myself. (I mean, what else really matters, right?!) Through dueling, I met Yugi and his friends and they accepted me into their nerdy little group.
During the Battle City tournament, I was sent to the "Shadow Realm" by Marik and Yugi saved me. It felt... awful, the Shadow Realm. Like I would never see Jo -- my friends again. After that I went off by myself to duel in other tournaments but I was always overshadowed by Yugi, Joey, and Kaiba. Then I met Valon, who brought me to Dartz. He showed me real power. But The Seal of Orichalcos was evil. My soul was stolen by it and Joey and the others had to save me. Again...
