My family says I draw just like my dad but of course, no one has any surviving drawings. I like to draw the main idea too but it is usually crappy before I get the awesome finish. Speaking of that, a couple of weeks ago, I was outlining the story I wanted to write and came out with an effective outline with a clear plot and stuff. I don't usually do outlines, I just go with my first idea. I need a little bit of insight, I'll send the story outline and stuff through a PM.

My art talent has been inherited, I suppose. lol But people say I take after my dad with my weird stuff. Of course, no one has any of his drawings! My drawing has improved a lot since I started drawing in the fourth grade. I still have the same style when I draw characters. Tear shaped heads and like square eyes. lol Reading, drawing and writing are like my favorite things too! biggrin

My art teacher is someone we had found in the newspaper advertising. lol But when I was in school, I had an art teacher that was awesome too. Bright and bubbly but she went by the school's lessons so I didn't really learn any techniques. She saw my potential though. I would like to teach art but only to people who have some experience. I tried teaching a cousin once who wanted to draw because he saw someone draw flames and stuff. The art class only lasted for one session and he never came back again. I guess he wasn't interested in actually improving his skills. He wanted to doodle stuff the whole time so... Yeah sometimes I do that too when I can't find anything. Can't really recall a name I used though but it was never put to use. lol I had spelled it in a different way and it no longer looked like its original form. lol I'm definitely going to be an artist but I have other career options I would like to go into one day.

My art teacher usually draws on our art and she tries not too but I don't really care because her suggestions usually go the best way. Just light pencil marks. I use behindthename.com or something to that effect to pick names sometimes when I have trouble. I combine names I like sometimes to make it orginial. I like name meanings, in my stories I base names around plot a lot like Reine and Vulcan from Trial By Fire, both of the names mean fire and they're the parents of my fire shaman, Kaia. smile

Lol, yeah I used to be absolutely clueless too. I don't know how I learned about computers, I never read books or anything. Only for HTML. Your style doesn't sound backwards, it's unique. I sometimes do that when I'm trying to get the idea of a character down. Like when I was drawing Kaia in Trial By Fire, I had the idea in my head but I wanted to see how I can put her on paper. I have a couple in the art arena of her but my skethbook has a lot of variations from eyes to heads but they're all of her. I've never had anyone mess up my art but I bet it is irritating. You'd probably want to poke their eyes out with a pen or something. biggrin

My weak point with drawing people is the eyes but my teacher went over it with me. My scanner can be really stubborn at times. I don't know why. I'm the only computer technician in the house, to a point, so I'm always the one fixing things. I came to one too, I've been trying to add to several of my stories but I'm just not in it right now. lol

Thanks! <3 Yeah, I don't like drawing people but it comes natural to me. What I usually do to put up my pictures is scan them, resize them and such then put them up on a picture hosting site like photobucket.com and then I can submit them to the arenas. I love pencil and ink but I work mostly with pencil. Oil is fun but time consuming. sad

Yeah I know what you mean, you get an awesome idea but no way to get there. And then you forget it! Makes me want to bring a pad and pen with me everywhere I go. Thanks! Good luck with your work too!
