[OOC:] Note: I DISLIKE other Dante's that are not in character. And make him look like a fool. If you're going to cosplay him, act like him too. And other Dante's don't add me. I only accept Dante's that prove they're worthy. AND: I took the time to write all of this information by myself. Screw Wikipedia, I know enough to write my own goddamn facts. If you want to be a jackass and plagiarize the information I've given, I'll gladly report you. I don't know if I can do that, but I'd love to find out if you even try it.[/OOC]

-Oh I'm sorry I'm just a fail Dante but I hope you enjoy my profile anyway.-

"Two milleniums ago there was a war between the human world and the other, the Underworld. But somebody from the Underworld woke up to justice, and stood up against this legion alone. His name was Sparda. Later, he quietly reigned the human world and continued to preserve harmony until his death. He became a legend, The Legendary Dark Knight Sparda."

There are plenty of legends. . . I've heard too many versions of the tale to make a clear story of it myself, and I'm one of the sons of the Legendary Dark Knight. . Yeah, his son. Apparently sometime before he left this world, he met and fell in love with a human woman, named Eva. They then had two sons. Twins, in fact. Vergil, who is the older one of us, and then there's me. . .
Yeah, okay. I'm sure you're thinking, "His son? That's gotta be cool." Well, yes and no. *Slight depression;breaks out of it for time being* Yes, it is cool being the son of a legend and that most of his demonic traits were passed on to both my brother and I. But that's about where the cool stops. Since I can remember, the Sparda family has been plagued by constant threats and attacks by demons. There was one attack, however, that managed to change the course of my life forever. This specific attack resulted in my mother's gruesome murder and my twin brother Vergil's abduction and, ultimately, his desire to turn to darker pursuits. It left me with nothing but an amulet given to me by my mother, her picture, and the sword my father had left behind as a gift. And, of course, the burning desire for revenge.
Everything changed that day. I decided to go into hiding until I was strong enough to avenge my family. I took the alias of "Anthony 'Tony' Redgrave" and lived a pretty "normal" life until my late teens, when certain events led me to finally throw away the name "Tony" and, as my true self, face the demons that had been following me since childhood. Dante had returned...
With the help of a buddy/business partner named Enzo, I started a business in order to put my unique skills to good use and carry on my father's demon hunting legacy. . . But before I even got to name the shop, I got a "special" invitation. My thought-to-be-dead brother Vergil, under the influence of demonic power, wanted to re-open the portal to the demon world that our father had sealed long ago... Sure, he's my brother and all, but I just couldn't sit around and let him undo what our father had done. . . .
So, some things went down. I crossed paths with a woman, whom I began to call "Lady," while she was struggling with her own family issues. Her father, Arkham, was a p***k, and he was attempting to use Vergil in order to complete his dream of stealing Sparda's power. What a mess. Vergil and I fought each other... A lot... Then we actually teamed-up in hell when Arkham managed to get his greedy hands on Sparda's power. . . In the end, Arkham was defeated and Vergil got a little in-touch with his human side... He stayed behind in hell so that I could make it back to the human world. ...I thought that would be the last time I'd ever see my brother again.
All in all, I did a lot of growing up during that time. With Lady's help, I finally had picked a name for my shop. "Devil May Cry." Catchy, right? . . .
Well, things went as fast as time would allow. . . With nothing extraordinary happening... Just the run-of-the-mill lost child calls and demon executions. Lady disappeared to do her own hunting and I continued to run the shop, pay the bills, blah, blah, blah. *Drones on and on*Until one particular night... One spectacular hunt came to my attention in the form of a woman on a motorcycle. This woman, who has the same face as my mother, gave me information that Mundus, the Demon King, was going to be resurrected on a faraway island and I was the only one who could stop this from happening. This particular Demon King was the King that Sparda had sealed away himself 2000 years ago. Like it was fate, right?
I headed to the island and fought against the many minions in Mundus' following. One particular minion, however, hunted me down like there was no tomorrow. Nelo Angelo. This dark knight shared the same sword-fighting style as I did... The style that my father had passed down to his two sons. Maybe Sparda had an apprentice? But, I didn't realize until it was too late. Nelo Angelo's defeat left me with Vergil's half of the amulet... The amulet that my mother had given to us as a gift. Nelo Angelo was Vergil. Vergil's corruption was all Mundus' doing from the start. With that motivation I, once again, jumped straight into hell so I could face this particular Devil. On my way I ran into Trish. She looked like she needed help, so I pulled the hero move. She returned the favor by showing her true colors and zapping me in the back. She was working for Mundus as well, and I had started to screw up her master's plans so he wanted me gone. Isn't life grand? But something happened that put Trish's life in danger and I instinctively went out of my way to save her, despite her betrayal. . . I couldn't let someone with the same face as my mother die. . .
Anyways, I continued to dive deeper into hell until eventually I found Mundus. He was going to kill Trish for her failure to get rid of me. But before that, he attacked me and was about to finish me off when Trish came to her senses and took the blow for me. At this point, I was aching for revenge. I faced off against Mundus. The battle that had taken place 2000 years ago was happening once again, and I was in the spotlight. But, towards the end, the long battle was beginning to take it's toll on me. Then, out of nowhere, Trish came to my aid. She lent me her powers and I was able to deliver one last shot to Mundus' ugly face. Jackpot!! He was sealed away once again, and hopefully he won't be back anytime soon, or EVER for that matter... Trish and I escaped the island via a plane that was just conveniently placed on the island.
Finally, the dust settled and I returned home. Trish joined me in my devil hunting business. And somewhere along the way, Lady came back for more hunting fun as well. What more could a guy ask for? . . .Another hunt to get the blood pumping, that's what. The hunts came and went, the usual. But with Trish and Lady helping me sniff out potential leads and more hunts, business was never really too boring. But things got a lot more interesting when Lady came to me with some info. Seemed there was a community that worshipped my father, Sparda, like a God. And they had a certain group of hunters, The Order Of The Sword, that had started to get in the way of her work. So she wanted ME to check this out for her. Normally, I would have told her to pull her own weight, but since this involved my father, I started to think, "Why not?" But before I could make any final decisions, Trish took the Sword of Sparda and made a dash to Fortuna. I then had no choice but to take the job. Nothing is ever simple.
After doing some of my own research and heading to Fortuna to crash a party, I came across a kid named Nero. This one was different… So I tested him in a fight. He actually proved to be tougher than I thought, due to the nice little trick he had up his sleeve. Some kind of near-invulnerable devil’s arm. I sensed something familiar about the aura that emanated from him, so I decided to take a side-role on this particular hunt to see what this kid could do. I was confident that he could handle himself. Things began to unfold, and with Trish’s insider info, I learned that this Cult was a little confused about the differences between angels and devils. They were performing some kind of ascension ceremony and becoming “Angels.” Though, any normal idiot would know that they were, in fact, demons. And these "Angels" were trying to re-open the Hellgates that Sparda himself had sealed long ago. Sound a little familiar? It's never going to end. Anyways, after another meeting with Nero, I found out that he had the Yamato, the very sword that belonged to Vergil. Something like that had to stay in the family, so I tested him again. This time, I didn’t go so easy on him, but, after the fight, something inside me clicked. I decided to let the kid use the Yamato to achieve his goals, and I went back to doing my thing. Nero ended up getting caught in a bind. The leader of this Cult intended to use me as the core for this “Savior” he had built… Turns out he couldn’t get everything he wanted, so he used Nero instead because of his link to Sparda’s bloodline. So, it was my turn to hit the spotlight. I had to help the new kid with his problems, since he clearly couldn’t handle them all by himself. I guess I had a little too much faith in him.
I hit some tourist spots and destroyed each of the false Hellgates that were erected in the town. The bad guys took the Yamato, once again, and used it to open the real Hellgate, which turned Fortuna into Demonville. Then I went for this “Savior.” But, I found out I couldn’t take out something so big from the outside. And, with my luck, Nero was already inside. I managed to get the Yamato back to him and let him finish the job from the inside. Besides, this was his fight as much as it was mine. The new kid came through pretty well. Lots of crashing and smashing, and the big guy came down with a bang. What a show. Nero makes as much of a mess of his own town as I do when I’m on the hunt. Nero gave me back the Sparda Sword, which Trish had given to the baddies as a symbol of trust to get her inside job. But when he tried to give the Yamato back, I told him to keep it. Something about him just reminded me of my brother, Vergil. Just my thinking, but maybe Nero is what Vergil would have been if he would have never been corrupted by evil. And besides, Nero did a damn good job using it for the right purposes… So I figured it’s in good hands now. With the job finished, I returned to the office, and life’s been pretty normal for us devil hunters since then. New hunts are still keeping us busy. I’m just waiting for another REAL workout… Any suggestions?
