Here is how you add a friend:You go to (my gaia)and there is like a scroll and you click on friends and they will say friend list and others but if you write a persons name down on a piece of paper to remember and you want to add them then you type in their name in friend list!But if you go some where like in towns then you aim your mouse above their head and add them and that's about it and if you have any other questions then you can ask!
