My name is Amiel Meir. I am the state of Israel. I almost did not make it to becoming any sort of nation at all. Britain would not aid me and Palestine wanted me dead. Egypt, Saudi Arabia.. others joined Palestine's side of the conflict. The only one who believed in me was America. Golda Meir was the one who asked for American support. I took her name in honor of her.Golda was asked why there could be no peace between Israel and Palestine by a child. She said, "There can only be peace when the Palestinians love their children more than they love killing us."
I am still under fire. I was born in blood and fire, made into who I am through conflict. My people have endured hatred for thousands of years; they know how to take care of themselves and so do I. If no one aids me in staying alive, then I will aid myself. Even if I die, I will not go alone.
