About
I started getting back in touch with my geeky side this year so here I am, back on gaia. I've been on and off since 2004 and although my account is pretty old I am basically a gaia n00b. Honestly I really shouldn't be on here so much with life and such going on but wahhhh I like all of the pretty pixels :3I believe in a balance with life offline so I usually don't get in too deep with my online personas/profiles/blogs/things of that nature. I spend my free time with friends, reading books and comics, playing video games, appreciating and making art and crafts, and getting lost in weird places on the internetz. I also love surfing, running, yoga, healthy food, education, and travel. My happy place is in a cozy spot with a big mug of tea or coffee in hand.
In terms of geeky things, I don't consider myself an ultimate fangirl of anything in particular. I usually like anything that leans towards fantasy or the quirky side of life. I'm a sucker for Japanese stuff too. I have this habit of finding something I like and becoming obsessed with it. Nothing else matters except this crazy whirlwind of excitement that eventually causes my blood pressure to explode... and then comes the inevitable weaning off phase until the next big discovery. The internet makes it far too easy to take this binge obsession cycle to absurd levels.
I guess the nostalgia factor hits hard for me so I love games and other pop culture fluff from the 90s and 2000s like Pokemon, Sailor Moon, SNES games (esp Final Fantasy VI), Nintendo 64, Gamecube, all Legend of Zelda. I also love BBC's Sherlock, Breaking Bad, Adventure Time, The Oatmeal, Penny Dreadful, Fables, Portlandia, Always Sunny, 30 Rock, Harry Potter, CLAMP, Studio Ghibli, Harvest Moon, Ninjatown, Settlers of Catan, Audrey Kawasaki, Amy Sol, apak, Tokidoki, San X... and I could go on and on.
