Welcome

So...You get these little boxes for your "about you" section, and then you type things that you think people might find interesting about yourself. Sounds simple enough. Except...There's so much about a person. What do you write down?

I suppose you don't have to take it this seriously, but the "about you" section got me to thinking. In a few hundred years when your descendants are doing their assignments on ancestry what will they be able to find out about you?

Will they know that you loved to kayak, but never really got into it, because it's just sooo expensive. Will they know that you once worked aboard the Pride of Hawai'i serving passengers, and sharing a tiny room with three other people? Will they ever know anything about you beyond your name? Will they even know that?

I suppose it's unimportant in today's world. No one's really preoccupied with being immortalized anymore. But for some reason I am...Is that so wrong?
