About
Hello! The name's Reno Takamiya, but everyone just calls me Reno!
I'm 23 years old and I've been gaming for awhile. I own a PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, Tablet, Smartphone, Nintendo 2DS and PC.
My Philosophy Is: "To never limit my gaming experience." Which means that I'll end up purchasing each new handheld/console that ends up releasing at one point or another.

Oh okay. Yeah, looking forward to it, they've been taking their time getting into it with very fillery recruiting episodes. Did you like the second part any better? It's a better taste for what the series will be, although battles will have a complete overhaul because they'll move away from Hamon and hand to hand fighting by introducing Stand ablities. Tokyo Ghoul is pretty alright. Really liked Attack on Titan, haven't jumped into Season 2 of the anime yet, but I'm reading the manga as it comes out in Japan so I'm far ahead.
Yep. The ethnicity doesn't really matter for the story. The little we see from FMA trailer looks pretty good, so I'm cautiosly looking forward to the movie. It's just fun to apply same logic used by social justice crowds earlier when the tables are turned, especially when the ethnicity in source material is canon and can't be argued over. Like Japan can make Attack on Titan movie with all Asian cast without anyone saying a word, but if Hollywood made one people would lose their minds even if white cast is accurate, people be especially mad if Mikasa or Levi were whitewashed since they've been revealed to be Asian minorities in AoT universe. It'd be interesting to see what people would think if there was Asian produced SAO movie where they had Asian play that character. West shuns Japanese girls for tanning, so I could see them finding replacement of black character problematic.
Don't have more to add about the mobile gaming.
Fire Emblem Birthright is part of Fates. The entry is Fates and it splits into three storylines, Birthright, Conquest and Revelations. Yeah, I wouldn't think much of Scalebound trademark renewal. Would be fun to see them try and send the game out to die without Platinum.
I think they'll definitely tie the legendaries with something. Already at launch I was expecting them to start striking deals with companies to have legendaries appear in their store locations only.
There's apparently five GitS Arise films, though last hasn't been localized. Haven't touched the series at all and really need to start SAC from the beginning too one day.
I never can tell if it's sad or funny that staying true to source material only matters if it's POC -> White. It would be funny if Asian live action productions swapped these around and have all European people as Asians, but has European cast portraying Xingese who were explicitly Asians in that universe. I'd like to see the reactions.
Yeah, ratings might have to do with it. But did someone at the studio watch the show and genuinely think it was so good that it stands on it's own without the fanservice making it worth grabbing rights to.
Oh, the mobile has caught you huh. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't really play anything on my phone. It gets hot as lava just from reading chapter or two of comics in browser. Though only one I have even passing interest for would be Fire Emblem Heroes, but I've got plenty of it on 3DS. Just got collector's edition of the Echoes and not even done with Fates yet. Switch definitely shouldn't be anyone's priority without more games, I'm weak and was sold by it's screenshot features since I take a ton of screenshots. It's the best capture feature on any system so far, would be fine if they finally updated it for video too. I haven't heard that Microsoft is thinking about giving it another shot, but Platinum was the only reason anyone cared at all. Could be just hate trademark so nobody else could take the IP. I don't think Nintendo can do much about the third party devices or they would've already done it. I think Nintendo got the original Amiigo pulled out for a bit though, but it being back up as N2 hints that it was because of the name. I'm looking forward to Mary Skelter too. Haven't heard of Tokyo Xanadu until now, but looks neat. I'm stranger to Fate series, but I was eyeing it on Switch upcoming lists.
Cool. I wonder if it's possible for them to bring back the hype from last year. I thought the second generation would've done it, but either people stopped following the news or the charms worn off from a lot of people. It's bit sad to see. I'm sure a lot of people are backing travel batteries. Bet they'll make legendaries region exclusive and you have to travel to arctic to get Articuno, Macho Picchu for Zapdos, Vanautu for Moltress and sneak in Area 52 for Mewtwo.
You mentioned that your family goes to theaters rarely so you didn't happen to catch Ghost in the Shell, did you? I thought it was pretty good. I went to see it twice, once with my brother and second time with my friend after rewatching the original movies for the first time in at least a decade. I used to hate the Innocence, but this time around I actually liked it better than the first.
Yeah, it's weird that these companies would pick these series up at all if they have some moral qualms about their content and just censor the whole point of it out. Japan does it a lot for uncensored Blu-Ray releases in mind, but in the west I don't think that excuse is used and this is all we get. I had a happy coincidence with My Hero Academia when I randomly picked it up and watched all Season 1 in one session and then I found out that the season 2 was starting like the very next day. Besides that the only anime I've been watching is still Dragon Ball Super and been trying to finish Hunter x Hunter.
Been pretty lazy year for me without a whole lot happening.
Sold my Xbox One and bought Nintendo Switch with Breath of the Wild, love it. I've also been practicing my flexible morality a bit by installing custom firmware on my 3DS XL, which technically opens the system up for piracy (I deny any allegations of taking advantage of this) among other stuff and I also bough N2 (previously Amiigo) that's a re-programmable amiibo base I can dumb any Amiibos data into using my phone (or PC if I bought the NFC writer), still got to buy the things for collection, but now I don't need to stress about the DLC unlock side of it.
Have you been going out to catch all the second generation Pokemon yet? Pokemon Go seems to have died out here, so far I've only seen two people play it even though the weather has been good.
I'm definitely going to see it in the cinema. The way I figure it is that if I'm interested in watching a movie even once, I might as well see it at it's best. I do hope that GitS, Logan and Power Rangers comes to our main theater, they have better audio and video equipment and my next 15 movies there will be free.
It seems that Ghost in the Shell is a March movie. Our more obscure theater already has it on their schedule, but the bigger one doesn't.
I still expect Pokemon GO will get a full update in spring and thought that taking it slow and giving first taste through eggs was a smart move now that weather is getting hazardous. Well, they're not hiding the fact that it's just a Pikachu with a hat, it's just that a lot of people like Pikachus with hats. I'm still bummed out that we didn't get the Pikachu with Ash's hat for Sun and Moon in the west so far, Japan got one though I don't remember how it was distributed. But that Simpson pic is pretty funny. I should really start watching the series from the start.
Yeah, I've enjoyed the stamps too, the holiday items haven't been good this year, though I haven't done the event or caroling, just the daily gifts. I haven't even dared to look what kind of effect Holidays have had on the economy with GC being on like over 60% sales.
Sorry for the late response, was running low on things to say and then forgot entirely after getting hooked by Final Fantasy XV, which I started and completed in this time... Really liked the game, I think it's been a good year for gaming again. Pokemon Sun's definitely most time and effort I've put into Pokemon, at least since first two generations. It wasn't as easy as XY, but it never was a struggle either. My main trio was able to just swipe most trainers teams out without needing swaps. I was training both Kadabra and Haunter for a good while until I remembered that they don't evolve naturally... The trade evolutions annoy me most since you lose YOUR Pokemon if you have to trade with a stranger. I have no interest in using someone else's Pokemons in battle. I was also surprised when I found the Midnight form, I swear I heard people mention it as an exlcusive. But in each game it evolves into different form, so maybe you could call it a semi-exclusive.
Speaking of Pokemon Go, did you notice the latest update? There's now some Johto (Gen 2) Pokemon that you can get from eggs at Pokestops and you're also now able to capture a special Pikachu.
Yeah, I thought those two and Exeggutor were goofy af, but I like them. I liked all Alolan forms and really all Pokemon in Alola. I felt like Pokefinder was a failure. It tried to cash in on some Pokemon Snap nostalgia, but it failed at that and just made me think how lame it is and how much I wish there was another Pokemon Snap... Also they should've allowed you to take pictures of your own Pokemon with it and give you some control other than Zoom over what was going on. Honestly I'm more surprised that they were able to put performance issues like lag in the game on any model. Wouldn't be surprised if it was manufactured problem just to try and convince people to do last minute upgrade. Might have even planned out with the whole $99 New 3DS Black Friday sales thing in mind. I feel like my regular N3DS battery is worse than 2DS or old XL TBH. You'd be better off just ordering a bigger battery and replacing the one from your system.
