I like it when the bass is the main sound. Like in the Seinfeld theme.

John Williams writes for French Horn pretty well in his movie scores, however a lot of marching music (which I had to play in HS) has TERRIBLE horn parts. I loved Sousa until I played a couple of his pieces with my horn.

Thing is, some of the more basic instruments can have difficult parts, depending on the piece. I remember having a lot of 'background noise' parts, while people on trumpet had hella hard sixteenths and such (I almost never saw sixteenths on my sheet music). Maybe it's because they're simpler in design? Who knows.
