I had never honestly expected this. The Vortexes always came of as pushy, prideful people, but they never came off as cruel. I hadn't even seen that Cindy's parents were fighting, and after all of the quarrels I've gotten into with Cindy, I know a fighting couple when I see one. I suppose they did that on purpose. According to Libby, Mrs. Vortex desperately clung to having a flawless reputation. I guess the Vortexes were good at pulling a curtain in front of your eyes, Cindy'd kept quiet for months...
