Of Mud fights, Mistakes, and Things that Go Boom *rose*
Se'rox and the Mud Fight

Se'rox "watched" with somewhat of a bittersweet disposition as ZuchaX III destroyed her mudpies that she had thrown at him. When he tossed his jacket aside, she thought, for a moment, that she had misjudged the level of their bond, and that he thought she was earnestly attacking him. However, that changed when he changed into shorts and a t-shirt and came running at her in the mud-pit. She dosged the snowballs, and then widened the mud-pit from 10 feet across to about thirty. It was still stretching out as ZuchaX III came running at her.

"Aw, you wanted a mud bath instead?" Se'rox kidded. She didn't know what it was- she thought maybe it was being in a mud pit after years of living in a sandy wasteland, or just the free feeling she had now that she had met- and consequesntly helped- her Somebody. But whatever it was, Se'rox felt more whole than she had in a long time. Perhaps forever.

Rose, and the troublemaker
Rose was a little surprised by Dragon's question- "Did you recognize that pixie?", but more so by what Wynn was holding.

"Iiri-shivia!" Rose muttered in fairy.* Looking over at Dragon, all she could respond to that question, was, "No. And yet, yes."

And that seemed to only be part of her worries. She waited impatiently for Wynn to arrive with the pixie, and for word on her ship. Why had Taran taken her ship and left? With n**? A pang of jealously rippled through her. But it didn't last. She was sure her response about the pixie would not satisfy Dragon's need for an explaination. Not after everything else lately. However, she wanted to hear about the fate of the Dragonfly before she got into that discussion.

A note about fairy-world native pixies

A pixie, of course, is a native being to the fairy worlds. They have the choice to live any way they like, though many millenia ago, they were used solely as guides and protectors. To this day, many pixies still choose to live as protectors.

Those that choose that life are trained, and depending on their abilities, personalities, and qualities, are assigned to a fairy. Because of the numbers of pixies (many times over the numbers of fairies), every fairy will be assigned a pixie. Many pixies might have to look elsewhere for a protectee. The pixies that are assigned a fairy will be given a magic seal that helps them locate their fairy and helps their fairy know them by sight. This can be done without the fairy present, as long as a piece of that fairy's hair is available for the spell.

Taran and the Dragonfly

Choking back a draconic curse, Taran picked his feet off the console and grabbed the controls.

"Hold on." he told n**, as he tilted the ship forward, and gave the engines a blast.

Missiles were exploding all around them, and Taran did his best to dodge them. Arcing left and back around the Altsoba, Taran hoped the missles, being chased by a second wave of their own, were forced to fly almost directly into the path of that second wave. An alarm sounded on the Dragonfly, which Taran glanced at but mostly ignored.

Many of the missiles didn't make it through, but a handful did. Taran swung back out wide, and dipped down. Flying underneath the Altsoba Taran waited until they had just passed it far enough, and, noting the four missles still following, jettisoned the garbage from the ship.

Two of the missiles were fooled, and exploded upon impact with the trash. However, two remained, and the remaining four second-wave missiles were tracking them.

Bearing back onto the course n** had set, Taran blasted the engines once more, trying to get out of range. It worked, sort of. The last four missiles exploded into the last of the attack missiles far enough behind them that they were only rocked forward again by the blast. The alarm was still sounding in the Dragonfly, but they were clear.

Setting the auto-pilot, Taran turned to n**.

"All right. How about you see if you can figure out why we were targeted, and I'll go make sure we don't explode in the next three minutes. Use the intercom if you need me."

And with that, Taran took off at a run to the engine room. There was, if he was not mistaken, a small problem with a panel in the power inverter. Hopefully, he could fuse it back together before the partially converted energy got supercharged from the heat and negative pressure and exploded.

*Iiri-shivia: In fairy, Iiri means unlucky. Shivia means stars. Since stars are usually thought of to be lucky. This is, therefore, a curse about the worst possible luck one might have.
