Friday, May 25 - Sunday, May 27
Animazement was my first ever Anime convention so of course I was excited/nervous. I got a late start on my cosplay (*cough cough* The night before I left) so they weren't that great. (*is already planning for next year FFX-2 Rikku anyone?)
FRIDAY
On Friday, I dressed as KH2 Riku and hung out with my Sora. Right when we walked in, we heard "Soooooorraaaa!" We turned to see who was calling Ashley and it was Sephiroth. My eye twitched and I almost yelled 'Father! You've returned!' but Sephy was too busy snapping Sora's neck (lol) while Kadaj and Yazoo watched, laughing. I scurried away with Sora, saying "Just move along, quickly, before I get killed!"
I got glomped less than 15 minutes that I was there by a ghetto Gaara which was great. <3 Sora and I got our pics taken a few times and I looked around (got shoved) in the Dealers room for a few minutes before my claustrophobia kicked in and I had to leave the crowd.
We left the dealers room and looked at art, gawked at beautiful cosplays, and met up with our friends (Demyx, Jesse from Team Rocket who was looking for our James, and Kat who didn't cosplay) and hung out for a while. Sora and I decided to find James and as soon as we went to the lobby, we found her and Pence then helped them to their room. They got dressed and we headed downstairs to get their badges (which were really cute by the way) then proceeded to find Jesse. James got stopped and people were shouting where they last saw Jesse and eventually she was found. As soon as they were together, pictures were taken and speeches were said. (I helped with the "Meowth, that's right!" part xD)
When Sora and I were waiting for Jesse and James to get their pics taken, I gasped. Right in front of me was none other than Mansex himself. He had the zebra cloak AND lightsabers. Of course Sora and I had to get in a few pictures. xD It made my day.
After a few hours of walking around, Sora and I left for lunch and changed costumes. I changed into my KH2 Seifer costume and Sora became Hidan from Naruto (only in Manga). We returned and James became Hayner we also got to see our Roxas. Soon after, we decided to meet up and rehearse our skit (that we made the day before) and I found another member to our group, Daniel. He was supposed to be Axel but he saved that for Saturday. I didn't even notice him at first because he was hiding in the shadows against the wall. He nearly gave me a heart attack when something in the corner of my eye moved and when I looked over, he was gone. He came back and watched us do our skit and Hayner fell to her knees on the concrete so much, she got bruises. D; Poor Hayner...
After going over the skit, we went back inside and watched Karaoke for a little bit (I couldn't see my friend Pippin which made me a bit sad) and the first one, Aries from Final Fantasy blew me away she was really awesome! I headed out with Ashley to the lobby and she went up to Kat's room to get her stuff while I stayed down and had a big struggle match with Hayner. Vash took my bat and PWNED hayner for me. Thanks, Thomas!! xD Later, Ashley and I said bye to my lover, Demyx, and Kat before leaving to get an early start for the next day, aka, sleep.
SATURDAY
Ashley and I woke up and took showers then went to Walmart to get a bikini for me (I needed one), masking tape, safety pins, and a better black hat for my Seifer. When we got back, we fixed my costume and we tried to fix Sora's hair. It didn't work out too well but we managed. We decided to use Hayner's hair gel later.
When Sora and I got there, we heard, yet again, "Sooooorrraaa!" From the same Sephiroth and I got my neck snapped while trying to defend Sora with my struggle bat. D; A few minutes later, Sora and I went to find Hayner, Pence, and Roxas. When we got to the hall, we found them walking down it, towards us. (Again, my perfect timing comes into play xD) BUT...they had Axel with them (Daniel) I seriously died inside. Hayner said, before the convention, that they were going to have an Axel. When I squealed, she told me not to worry because the Axel would be crappy. LIES ALL LIES!! Daniel was THE BEST Axel I had ever seen in my life of looking at Axel cosplay pictures. (I was going to be Axel for halloween but the wig sucked so I became Roxel) Sersiously though, he was the best at the convention and just about anywhere else I have seen besides Japan. We went up to Fix Sora's hair and Hayner took Sora with her into the room while the rest of us lazy people sat in the hall and waited. Roxas was so bored, she went into 'game over screen' mode on the floor. We all BAKED in the hall by the elevators until we found SALVATION!! *angels sing in the back*- An ice machine. I think Roxas was the first, then Axel, Pence, and me. Of course I had to get ice thrown at me from Axel and I went to get him back but he hid behind a pillar so I gave up and joined Roxas in 'game over' mode. Sora and Hayner came back and we went on our way.
I pitied Axel. He got stopped for pictures so many times that the rest of the group went off ahead of him and I felt bad so I stayed behind with him. In turn, I lost my Sora when she went off with Demyx and Neko Demyx (Who is my hero) and they went to Demyx's room to watch videos on Youtube and cool down. Hayner and the rest of us claimed a spot in the convention for pictures next to two iced water dispensers. Axel drank a lot of that water. I swear, every two minutes, I saw him with a filled cup of water. We told him not to drink it or he'll die and he told us it was clear magma so that became a running joke. Earlier, Demyx made the water dance and it splashed on Roxas xD. A while later, when we found a break from photo taking, we all went to Hayner's room so Axel could cool off and we could all relax and get forced to eat sandwiches by Hayner. Namine joined us on the far side of the room and the rest were in the middle except for Daniel and Victoria (Pence) who sat by me. I sat on a bed near the window and a while later we started talking about anime, video games, and voice actors. Then after getting bored, I looked out the window and said "Hey look! A bunch of cars!" Daniel was the only one who heard me correctly and he moved over to the window and said "Really? No way!" which made the rest of them come over and look out while Daniel and I laughed at them. HAHA YOU GUYS ARE SO SLOW!
We were getting ready to go so we gathered our weapons. Hayner wanted to play with Axel's Chakrams and accidentally cracked one of the blades but it wasn't that noticable.
We headed back out and went to our spot to chill. Hayner and Namine went to the dealer's room and Axel, Pence, Roxas and I sat down, waiting for them. We sat in a circle and it looked like we were playing a "CAHD GAYM" (lol) so people took pictures. Axel got bored and stole my struggle bat and kept hitting me when I didn't do anything to him! Heck, I even got stabbed by his chakrams when walking behind him. Anyway, Sora came back with Demyx and Kat. We took more pics then Neko!Demyx arrived and we took even MORE pics.
Soon after, all kh-ers gathered in the Lobby thanks to our crazy screaming Hayner and I who were screaming "KINGDOM HEARTS!!" in an Ansem-like manner. Daniel told me I had a manly voice when I finished it with "FILL ME WITH THE POWER OF DARKNESS!" then I told him he should hear me sing. I sound nothing like a male when I do. Speaking of, I had the song Respect stuck in my head almost the whole day...xD
Anyway, when we were gathered, we went outside in the INCREDIBLY HOT weather and I got to listen to Robin tell a story about melting organization members. Robin was also my hero. So we gathered and had an all together shot, then us bowing to Mickey, then smaller group shots. It was a short photoshoot because everyone was dying in the hot weather. Personally, I enjoy hot weather but you know it's sad when Axel is producing more sweat than Demyx can water. Yes, it was too hot even for Axel. xD
So we get back and our group splits in half. Axel, Roxas, and Namine leave while Hayner, Pence, Sora, and I go to Hayner's room to relax again. I almost passed out but I forced myself to stay awake for our skit. We ordered Pizza, ate it, then left for Cosplay.
We got through the line and some creepy chick in lingerie was in front of us...yeah. She molested my Sora's hair or at least tried to. Anyway, when we got in the room, we got situated and sang 99 bottles of Sake on the wall with a great show from Rock Lee dancing in the middle of the room then doing a scene from the episode when he drinks a sip of sake and gets wasted. Haha...Sora and I were clapping for him. She was kind of sad that she didn't get to give him a hug.
Everyone was waiting for their turn to go on stage so they started talking. I found out that the Link I was fangirling over the whole day lived in my city!! Yay! When it was our turn to go, we were right behind the host club and part of the skit that was going on at the time was playing the Numa song. Kyouya and Haruhi turned to us and smiled when we were singing to it. They joined us and of course, I was overjoyed because Kyouya is my favorite. xD *fangirl squee* OH MY GOD Their skit was so funny. (Check it out on Youtube) They won an award and totally deserved it. We made our skit in two days and rehearsed it very little. Still, we managed to remember everything. We went back in the room to watch the other skits (the main room was full) and we started talking to the Host club when we found out our Pence know Kaoru from college.
We walked around more after the skit, saw a Katamari again, and went back to the hotel. Sora and I were too tired to Rave...
SUNDAY
Ashley and I woke up, took more showers, and got ready. She was Hidan again and I was Deidara from Naruto. When we got to the convention, Hayner and Pence were leaving, Axel, Roxas, and Namine already left, and our Demyx was leaving so we had to hang out with her as much as we could. We went to the dealer's room and I bought a Gaara and Kyouya. Ashley got Honey and Demyx got a bunny hat. Before Demyx left, she showed me a very well drawn AkuRoku picture she had commisioned and showed me where it was so Ashley and I got a Sora and Riku picture which turned out very nicely (Notice how I typed out their names. It was not yaoi) but before we got it, we walked around and Demyx soon left with Kat. Then, I saw Tobi. (Deidara's partner) I snuck up beside him and walked next to him not saying anything until he noticed me. He laughed and some people got our pictures then I gave him a hug and we parted. He was such a good boy (lol). Ashlye and I played DDR and owned some lamers (haha) but it wasn't easy in sandals and flat pads. (I wanted to play on a hard pad but the line was too big for it) We walked around a bit more, went to a Naruto photoshoot, and left to go home.
It was my first convention and I can guarantee it will NOT be my last.
