Name: Kestral Silverdust (KEHS-truhl) aka Kes

Race: Three quarters demon and one quarter angel (Mother was a half angel).

Attitude:
Kestral always remains cool and collected even in the face of Death. He has a furious temper, but he is always friendly and will help those in need. He is extremely protective of those he loves and will do whatever it takes to protect them. As recessive as his angelic blood is, it appears to have changed his attitude over the years and he has become quite fairly level headed and pleasant.

Other Forms:
Now that Kestral has lost his ability to transform into different Dragons, he has succumbed to his unstable emotions. Any emotion that is alligned with a morality behind it is considered a pure emotion. Pure emotions that build up within Kestral can change his appearance to that of his Pure Form. These emotions are things like love, pride, happiness, etc. These emotions fuel and amplify his control over elements such as Light, Water, Wind, and Soul. Emotions that are backed with evil thoughts and malice are considered to be corrupted emotions. Corrupted emotions that accumulate within him can change his appearance to that of his Corrupt Form. This form amplifies his control over elements such as Dark, Fire, Thunder, and Ice. (Earth is a neutral element). His demeanor, appearance, and attitude are also quite different between his Neutral Form, Pure Form, and Corrupt Form.

Silver Energy:
While Kestral's life energy may consist primarily of Silver energy, they are not the same thing. Silver energy is generally only used for advanced combinations. Life is an element that can be fused with other elements on a basic level.

Powers:
Kestral is a rare breed of fighter, he has studied a nearly lost art known as Elemental Energy Fusion. Elemental Energy is different from normal elements in the sense that it is derived entirely from Kestral's own energy reserves, but uses the natural elements that surround him to take its form and damage type. Most elemental users only use one element and if they use more than one, they only use each element in basic form. Kestral on the other hand, has dedicated his life to the study of finding new and more powerful ways to fuse elements and, in doing so, unleashes a whole new level of creativity with his fighting style and Elemental Energies. While it is recommended that he practice with the elemental combination before battle, he needs no prior exposure with elements as long as they would logically be able to combine (i.e. no fire/ice combinations). Because of the clan of demons he was born into, he is most adept at controlling Dark and Light. Normally he would not be able to fuse the two because of their properties, but since they are his primary elements, he can fuse them to create Omni energy, sometimes referred to as Twilight energy. He can fuse up to three Elemental Energies at a time, but if it is an incredibly powerful fusion, he will need to pull the Elemental Spheres (concentrated versions of each element.) from his body and fuse them directly. He has a few elemental combinations that are only available if the conditions are met. But even then, his list of discovered elements is impressive:

Satanic + Godly + Ultima = Omega

Elemental Class System:
Elemental Neophyte- Can only use basic elements.
Elemental Apprentice- Can use basic elements and two to three fused elements.
Elemental Adept- Can use all basic elements fairly efficiently and can use any fused element, occasionally will possess one advanced element.
Elemental Elite- Can use all basic elements with incredble efficiency, can use all fused elements just as well and will have several advanced elements.
Elemental Master- Can use all basic elements with deadly efficiency, can use all fused elements on a whim, can use any advanced element once discovered and has access to several legendary elements.
Elemental Grandmaster- Can use any comprehendable element, legendary elements are like basic elements to them.

Weapons:
Has the power to manipulate elements, he is an expert swordsman and uses a shifting sword known as Half Blood. When he so chooses to use it, he has the Demon Strings, a satanic guitar that can do virtually anything within Kestral's imagination if he has the willpower to do it.

Half Blood:
This blade is a direct representation of Kestral's soul. To this day, he has always remained exactly half good and half evil. His struggle for which he will succumb to is shown in the blade. This sword was crafted by Gizan as a tool for Cross' eventual destruction. The sword can transform into any of ten different forms. Each one is virtually weightless, no matter how large it is. This is the special ability of the Andricite that the blade of. Andricite is indestructibe and nearly weightless. Each of Half Blood's forms are half demonic and half angelic, which parts are which vary from form to form.

The Demon Strings:
This demonic instrument is said to have the souls of nine deceased elemental demons trapped within it's strings which is why they are unbreakable. While there is no electrical attachment or accoustic mechanism for it to resonate, the sound is amplified clearly by some ethereal means. All of the strings are the same thickness and have the same sound while Kestral does not siphon his energy through them, but when he does, each string sounds completely different and beautifully or devilishly enchanting. Each string works essentially the same way but they all have a resoundingly different effect. The higher Kestral plays the string, the more powerful the attack becomes, and the faster he plays while still holding the melody, the more area the attack will cover. Of course if he were to play an incredibly high note at a ridiculous speed, he would drain his energy much faster than he would if he were to play something on a low fret slowly. Despite this Kestral generally plays fairly fast but low, since he is not too concerned with accuracy. The strings are as follows:

1st: Fire
This string allows Kestral to control the heat around him, as with all other strings, the abundance of his ability to control it is governed by how much of a heat source is around him. Kestral can cast fireballs at people, create infernos from seemingly nowhere, cause enemies to combust, etc. Most effective when in a desert, or volcano, etc.

2nd: Wind
This string allows Kestral to create anything from wind barriers to hurricane force winds of up to 300 mph. This is one of few strings that Kestral has unlimited control over. He also uses this string to hover/levitate/fly. Nothing really affects this power, but mountains do cause it to have more strength.

3rd: Water
This string requires either some form of humidity or water source such as a lake. Depending on the available water, Kestral can use this to create anything from rain storms to tidal surges. Most effective when near large water sources.

4th: Lightning
This string can normally only generate sound waves and vibrations, but if there is some form of electrical source or lightning storm nearby, Kestral can manipulate it to create thunder beasts, hold someone in place, direct the bolts of lightning, paralyze foes, etc. Generators, or other electrical sources amplify this string's power.

5th: Earth
Kestral uses this string to create earthquakes or fissures, sometimes he throws boulders ripped straight from the ground. This string's control is usually unlimited unless there is little ground nearby. Kestral can also coat himself in a fine layer of virtually indestructible Earth Armor. Most effective in areas such as mountains and deserts.

6th: Ice
This string only works in places where cold air is abundant. Kestral can create icicles to hurl at enemies, freeze enemies, summon ice beasts, cause ice shards to shoot out of the ground. Most effective in areas with low temperatures.

7th: Nature
Kestral uses this string to control everything from vines, to thorns, to trees, etc. Any animals nearby are also subject to his power. This is another of Kestral's strings with usually infinite control. But not always, some terrains do not allow it's use such as barren wastelands or anything else with little nature. Most effective in forests, jungles, and any other terrain with lots of plant life.

8th: Light
This string allows Kestral to generate incredibly brilliant light. This can be used to blind his enemies. However this is not primarily an offensive power, he does use it to create something called a Holy Cannon, where he collects light energy and shoots it after concentrated at his enemy, thereby ripping a hole straight through them. Other than this skill, Kestral generally only uses the eight string for it's healing abilities. Most effective during the day time or when the sun shines brightly.

9th: Dark
This is without a doubt Kestral's secret weapon, he generally tries not to use this particular string but when he does, it is deadly. He can manipulate the shadows to his will, summon nightmarish shadow beasts, create reincarnations of demons long dead, play on the fears of his victim, and many other horrible things. Kestral is primarily a Shadowmancer thanks to Morik's teachings, so he has incredible control over this string. He also uses this to poison his enemies viegns with an attack known as Shadowblood, and this power allows him to send victims into an insane berserk rage, he can also use an attack that is the polar opposite of the Holy Cannon known as the Shadow Blast with the same effect, but much stronger. As sadistic as all this is, the worst thing is the fact that Kestral has virtually unlimited use of this string since darkness is only the absence of light, where there is light dark always presides as well. Most effective at night, but it really doesn't matter.


Background Information:
Kestral leads a clan of demons known as the Kurai Clan. The Kurai take pride in their preservation of the all but lost art of Elemental Energy Fusion. Kestral is the most powerful and advanced living user of this power and has achieved the rank of Elemental Master. The Kurai also all have long-ish silver hair and silver eyes at birth. Certain clan members' eyes have changed colors signifying their elemental specialty, but their hair will change colors only if they have done so through dying it or betraying the Kurai. Kestral's mother was a half angel, unbeknownst to the rest of the Kurai, other than one man named Cross. Cross hated Kestral's mother because of her angelic blood and murdered her in what was originally supposed to be a friendly sparring match. After this betrayal, Cross murdered Kestral's father, Beleas, for marrying a half breed. Beleas was also the leader of the Kurai Clan before his murder, passing the title and responsibility to fourteen year old Kestral. Kestral tracked down and supposedly killed Cross, creating severe turmoil between he and Cross' son Cassius. Cassius renounced his Kurai blood and convinced several other Kurai members to follow him and they named themselves the Dissenters. To this day, Kestral and Cassius relentlessly attempt to kill each other whenever they cross paths. Cassius doesn't believe that his father is dead, and thinks that Kestral only said that he had killed Cross to convince the Kurai that he was a strong leader. During one of their encounters, Kestral achieved his Apocalypse Dragon state, though he did not manage to kill Cassius. This form completely closed him off from his ability to transform into his Dragon forms. Now lost without his Dragonic transformations to rely on, Kestral is fueled by his emotions to transform him and make his respective elements stronger. He is still in conflict over the discovery of his angelic lineage and finds himself an indirect hypocrite for fighting against the heavens for years. He cannot figure out what to do with himself at this point and distances himself from his duties in Hell's Army.

The Kurai:
Zindell - Kestral's best friend. He was abandoned and taken in by Kestral's family at a young age. Though not one of the Kurai, he is treated as family. They often fight together, since Zindell uses a mechanical amplification arm that Gizan crafted for him, Kestral can utilize this and amplify his elements using Zindell's arm as a medium.

Vincent - Kestral's apprentice. Though also not a blood member of the Kurai Clan, Kestral took him in and trained him as if he were his own younger brother. Vincent aspires to go along the same path as Kestral, studying and discovering the different elemental energies that he can learn. Kestral had Gizan and Vayne craft a weapon that rivaled his own Half Blood known as Feral Blood just for Vincent. They both have similar fighting styles.

Gizan - The Kurai Clan's weapon master and blacksmith. Gizan can craft weapons made of the most rare of metals, with exquisite detail, craftsmanship, and quality. He crafted Kestral's soul weapon Half Blood two years after Kestral's parents were killed. Gizan is one of Kestral's oldest friends and is one of the only Kurai Clan members that dyes his silver hair a different color (Vincent and Zindell aren't natural born Kurai.) Gizan uses a scythe constructed primarily of adamantium for its handle and orichalcum for its blade. The scythe is known as the Lunar Gale and can control Dark energy and Wind energy with extreme efficiency.

Vayne - The Kurai Clan's gem crafter. He fuses souls into small gems and creats a seal inside of them to release the soul's power into whatever the gem is embedded on. Kestral has both an Angelic Dragon and Demonic Dragon fused into Half Blood's Soul Gem, thus giving it it's angelic and demonic appearance.

Ruzylle - The protector of the Kurai Temple. He is considered a prophet and the embodiment of peaceful coexistence. He tends to be Kestral's main advisor in life. He foretold great suffering for Kestral the day before his parents were killed. It is well known that everything he says has great significance, especially since he is one of few words. No man has dared to distrust his council.

Rage - A somewhat distanced member of the Kurai. He comes and goes from the Kurai Village. Rage keeps mostly to himself but is well known for his Phoenix. His pet can change forms into a full suit of fiery armor with flame wings, and a red feather hilted, metallic orange sword that sends forth waves of Fire when swung. Rage is primarily a Fire and Wind Elemental. He tends to be wreckless with his attacks.

The Dissenters *Read below for explanation*:
Cassius - Kestral's nemesis and the apparent leader of the Dissenters. He restlessly searches to find Cross, and he knows in his heart that he his father is still alive. When his father murdered Kestral's parents, he felt sympathetic towards Kestral, but when Kestral in turn wanted to take from Cassius the one family member he had left, Cassius and Kestral became enemies and Cassius renounced his Kurai Blood. Shortly after this, he convinced several other Kurai that Kestral was an impure leader, and just as much a half breed as his mother had been. He told them that Cross had only killed Kestral's mother to cleanse the Kurai of any angelic blood. Those who followed him in his betrayal were known as the Dissenters. Soon after this event, his hair began to turn pitch black, but his eyes have remained silver. Ruzylle once attempted to convince Kestral that this was a sign that he was still a Kurai at heart, and was only misguided by his emotions and the love of his father. Kestral struggles to believe that this is true, but his feud with Cassius causes difficulty. Cassius is nearly as strong as Kestral (almost an elemental master) and uses similar fighting styles, elements, and weaponry, but since he is a pure demon, all of these have a more dark appearance and composition.

Arlu - Before he became a Dissenter, Arlu was one of the most powerful warriors of the Kurai. Though Cassius appears to be the leader of the Dissenters, Arlu may very well be using Cassius to his own purposes since the other Dissenters seem to follow his lead. Once Cassius' purpose has been served to Arlu, he will most likely find a way to steal the command of the Dissenters. He is powerhungry, bloodthirsty, and extremely dangerous. Where Cassius does not seek violence towards anyone but the Kurai, Arlu seeks to kill all those who are weaker than himself so that he may earn a high rank in Hell's Army. Arlu is an Elemental Elite like Cassius, but most of his attacks are not fusion based, he prefers to use base elements instead because of how little effort it requires to utilize them. His most powerful element is something he calls Mythic energy. It is unclear what the elemental combination is for this element, but it is incredibly powerful and Arlu usually only uses it to create an enormous blast of multicolored energy. His weapons are not legendary and are not exactly special in any way other than their shape and the skill with which Arlu handles them. His fighting style consists of close range attacks with his hands, blades, and legs.

Zenaia - A powerful Thunder and Ice Elemental Fuser and Elemental Elite. Zenaia is extremely fast and agile, and quite powerful since he does not use any form of physical weapon. If he does find need for a weapon, he forms a whip made of pure Thunder energy. His ultimate element, Devilshock Shard energy, is a combination of Ice, Thunder, and Dark energy. This energy is also Zenaia's ultimate element. Though he may usually only use his fists, he prefers to fight from a distance with long range Thunder attacks. Once an opponent gets close to him, his hand to hand attacks prove to be lethal.

Kallisk - Arlu's younger brother. His control over Ice and Dark energy make him a dangerous foe. He may only be an Elemental Adept, but his preference of Ice builds him in both offense and defense. His only weapons are his two revolvers which remain hidden underneath his coat. He uses these to fire Ice and Dark bullets (one out of each pistol). If an enemy manages to get in close to him, he is in danger and will become frantic with his attacks.

Eramu - An Earth and Wind elemental. His class is unkown. Apparently he is learning to manipulate Fire so that he may fuse his Sand energy with Fire and create Glass. For now, his weapon is a long, curved daggar that can send forth blades of condensed sand which can fly at his opponent with blinding speed. He follows the Dissenters only because he was good friends with Cassius when Cassius betrayed the Kurai. He wishes to help him find Cross. Eramu is not much of a fighter, but he does have brute force on his side in any fight.

The Guardians:
The Guardians are the most powerful of Uzura's victims that become lost in the Wanderer's Wood. These men each carry a powerful enchanted instrument and an extreme control over Ice and Light elements. These warriors are set to guard the Wanderer's Wood so that no one may find Uzura's clearing, the Eternal Meadow, without the direct word of Uzura himself. Uzura uses Ice souls and his control over Light for their powers and weapons, he also gives them completely new identities based off of the weapons they each carried in life.

Saber - Plays an enchanted ice koto. He patrols the northern edge of the Wanderer's Wood. He prefers to create Ice shards in the frigid air which hang for a moment before impaling his victims from all directions.

Claymore and Rapier - They both play enchanted guitars, but Claymore's (left) is made of Ice and is demonic wheras Rapier's (right) is made of Light and is angelic. They counterbalance each other perfectly. Rapier uses extremely fast and accurate attacks while Claymore uses more slow but powerful attacks. They both guard the eastern edge of the Wanderer's Wood.

Dagger - Carries a drumstick made of Ice and another made of Light. Depending on the distance in corelation to his heart, when Dagger strikes the air, a different color and sound of vibration will emit and a different effect will be activated in the field. Dagger guards the southern border of the Wood.

Scythe - plays a strange wind instrument made of pure frozen Light. He prefers to create large pillars of ice which jut out of the ground dangerously. If caught off guard, victims could easily be killed by this attack. Kestral fought Scythe on his first journey into the Wanderer's Wood. This is due mostly to the fact that the Kurai Island is due west of the mainland shore, and Scythe is on the western edge of the Wood. In fact, he is just off of the shore normally.

Other Important Characters:
Beleas - Kestral's deceased father and late master. He was murdered by Cross but often appears to Kestral in his sleep to guide him when he is lost. During one dream, Kestral was talking with his father in third person, but Kestral was not himself. He was a pure Angel. The significance of this has not yet been revealed to Kestral, but the image is prevalent in his memory. Before he was slain, Beleas was the most powerful Elemental Fuser alive. He had achieved the rank of Elemental Grandmaster. Though his power over the elements was virtually limitless, he reserved himself for the sake of his humility and the other Kurai's determination. He knew that if he showed them his true extent, they would find no need to study the elements themselves. Through extremely strenuous and constant training, Beleas trained Kestral and Cassius. This developed a close bond between Cassius and Kestral before Cross' betrayal. Ruzylle prophecized that their combined power would be the only way to save the Kurai in their darkest hour.

Ravythe - Kestral's mother. She is little more to Kestral than an obscure memory that causes constant turmoil with his conscience because of her impure blood. Kestral has no negative emotions towards his mother, in fact he wishes she were still alive so that he could ask her what to do now that he knows of his lineage. Kestral often finds himself in tears over his inability to remember his own mother, no matter how impure she had been.

Cross - The man who murdered Kestral's parents and left Kestral as the only heir to the Kurai Throne. Kestral immediately attempted to kill Cross, but being only fourteen, he lost miserably. Cross took pity upon Kestral saying that he was too young for him to kill, but that if he ever saw him again, Cross would end him. Cross used a special skill to wipe Kestral's memory from anything that had ever happened before their battle. Kestral has since then been picking up the pieces to his tattered past. Kestral sought out Cross once again when he was about twenty four. Once he finally tracked Cross down, Cross had clearly lost his senses, he was savage and merciless. Kestral still managed to defeat Cross and just as he was about to deliver the killing blow, Cross hurled what was left of his Black Shardstorm energy in a massive blast that caused the cave that they were in to collapse. Kestral withdrew Half Blood and fled the cave, hoping it's collapse would finish off Cross. The last thing he heard from Cross was his malevolent laughter echoing amidst the cave's debris from the entrance. Cross' skill with elements and his longsword, Malice, are remarkable. His main element is Black Shardstorm, which is a combination of Dark, Wind, and Ice energy. These three elements are also useable by Malice. Cross' hair has turned a purplish gray, but his eyes have turned a sickening white color. This eye color is more than likely a sign that he is now devoid of a soul.

Uzura - The Musical Spirit, and the creator of enchanted musical instruments. He is a spirit that has helped many warriors find their ultimate weapon. Kestral received the Demon Strings from this Uzura when he was twenty seven. Uzura appears only to those he chooses, and ony appears near a small misty lake at the center of a seemingly endless forest known as Wanderer's Wood. It is said that his strange, mystifying instrument, known as Rhuzek, is able to captivate those who hear it and cause them to succumb to an eternal slumber. He then steals their sleeping souls and crafts new instruments from them, passing them on to travelers who happen upon his home as he sees fit. Though he may remain neutral in the war, he appears more often to Kurai Clan members than any other group. His reasons for this are currently (and most likely will remain) unkown.
